I got hated by the cars behind me after the ledification of my reversing lights. There are two types of lamp monitoring on these beasts: Constant, where test pulses are sent through the circuit whenever the ignition is on, or monitoring only when the lamp is on. The first one will make your lamps becoming weak strobes, and it will irritate those behind you. Luckily, the IID-Tool will let you configure every light circuit individually, so you can switch modes. I believe it is in the CCF.

...and I hate the canbus reference. It has zilch to do about canbus. CAN is a network bus that is ever present in cars. It has as much to do with lamp monitoring as your wifi at home has to do with the weather presentation on a smart TV. Call it what it is: Incandescent bulb monitor. No more, no less!

Just saying what it said on the tin (canbus). Interesting to know about configuring it with the GAP tool, I'll check it out if I have problems.

What length are the number plate lights ? They come in different sizes I see

I replaced all my courtesy lights inside and exterior with led’s, When my car was in for MOT the tester found that the number plate lights were mad hot he replaced them. Cost £20 for the privilege so all those led’s were taken out and the old ones back in please check your just in case .

I'll keep it in mind. There is a fairly large heat sink on the back of the number plate lights, and the other lights are not on for that long.
