Hey, just wanted to give Kyle and Greg a big thank you for all the great content and instruction. Y'all gave me the knowledge and reference videos I needed to build my 36x64 that we made our forever home in Montana. If you watch the steps these guys use you will be able to not only build your building, but you'll understand why you need to do the things they are doing. Great work guys.

Recently came across this channel and instantly subscribed. Seeing these methods validates how our metal building install methods go hand and hand with this post frame method(s). Super efficient, boiled down and accurate procedures. Awesome and refreshing to see! Can’t wait for the trusses! 💪🏽

Pre-drilling the locations on the purlins for the nails is a huge idea. Less hard work at those heights makes for a safer operation. You made fantastic progress on the walls today.

Hi Kyle, Don't know if this was asked before but why aren't you placing metal shims under your posts? I guess you can order metal shims in several thicknesses and glue them on the metal brackets and mount the main post on top of them. This way you can mark all your post the same because your foundation is leveled. Love your channle. Yoram

Hi Kyle and Greg Great KZbin channel! I have been subscribed for several years now and I enjoy every video you post. I have an idea for content. Maybe you can share your experience as a GC and talk about the process and how to properly manage work flow, trades relationships, planning your work around other trades and maybe share some of your experiences with issues that you have worked through and how you apply it to how you work now. You know “lessons learned “. Keep sharing your great work ethic and commitment to quality. Leading by example. You and G make a great team! Thanks again. An old 58 year old carpenter from Vermont. Can you use this method to build in areas that get ice and snow? I see some of the fences and mailboxes that are set in concrete push their way up after the freeze/thaw

In a video I saw you make you said you liked the dewalt rotary laser I’ve the stabila but you liked the stablias receiver better. So my question is does the stabila receiver work with the dewalt rotary. My dewalt receiver just recently died and I was thinking about buying a stabila to replace but wasn’t sure if it would work. Any thoughts? Also love the work you and Greg do

In what state are you setting piers for post frame buildings? Here in Montana and Wyoming, we've never seen anyone set piers on any post frame buildings. Post go directly into the ground below the frost line. We have also been switching to all SIP panels for these buildings because there are much more energy efficient with the cold winters and hot summers.

I miss the days of building pole barns as my job. But my question is why use 3 2x6 instead of 1 6x6? Price? We always used 6x6 for our columns
@Mattie_Ice Жыл бұрын
Laminated columns are straighter, stronger, and better pressure treatment. With that being said, the price isn't worth it if you use an above grade design. In my area, they're 3 to 4 times the cost of a 6x6.
@steverobin34 Жыл бұрын
Safety First? I appreciate the fact you're wearing your seatbelt in the telehandler and wearing a hard hat. However, climbing and hanging 2x6's (I believe you someone said it was better than a big ladder) is very dangerous. Have you tried using your Megadeck to disconnect the rigging used to raise the wall and access the 2x6's. I hope you consider using the Megadeck in the future...for your families sake. The other option is a fall harness with a double self retracting lanyard. BTW...I'm a subscriber and I greatly appreciate your videos. Stay Safe!

Hey Kyle. I was trying to find details on sidewall overhead door openings. Do you use the structural header as a truss carrier or build posts up from the header keeping true spacing??
@garysizemore3729 Жыл бұрын
Are corner brackets consider part of the end walls? I think I saw in one video that the string line was running on the inside ear of the corner bracket that's what brought up the question. Also do you frame anything different if you are using house-wrap vs sheathing? All the best thank you for all the vids!

Is there any reason you dont just go ahead and partially drive your 60d nails as well after predilling the holes and then take them up to be set? Just seems like one more step you could save from doing up top.

You do know they make double headed nails for ease of temp assembly & then easy removal , kinda makes it easier on the carpenter's arm & not have to be so precise in driving them home for a snug fit & still have a head protruding for easy removal ...Just trying to save you a little arm energy & make them easier to remove , which should also save you time , both assembling & removing them ...👍👋
