RRJ 2023 DAY 1 Highlights: Kick-off and Lecture Series

Forty-four (44) emergency response teams from different local government units in Eastern Visayas participate the Regional Rescue Jamboree in Catbalogan City, Samar. The activity kicked-off with its Opening Ceremony on 13 June 2023 and will last until 16 June 2023.
Earlier today, a series of opening activities were conducted, starting off with a Holy Mass, a motorcade, and the best tent contest. The event was graced by Hon. Arnold Tan, Provincial Vice-Governor of Samar; Dir. Lord Byron Torrecarion, Regional Director of OCD 8; Dir. Antonio Sugarol, Regional Director of OCD 10; and representatives from the Regional DRRM Council, City Government of Catbalogan; and guests and observers from Dueñas, loilo led by their Vice-Mayor, Hon. Aimee Paz Lamasan.
Prior to the actual opening activities, a search for Mr. and Ms. RRJ Ambassadors was showcased with candidates from the ERTs well-represented their local government units. Hon. Dexter Uy, the City Mayor of Catbalogan, sponsored a Mayor's Night for the different contingents.
