That scene where they jump on the either side of the train and steam comes out is very symbolic: one side fire and one side is water! Alone, nothing much happens but if they fuse, steamboat formed and steam can make even make bigger things like train move wins help you reach your destination! SSR often tells story using pictures and not using words!

Saw RRR on Netflix. Fastest 3 hours ever. It's a Tollywood film, but dubbed into Hindi (the language of Bollywood films). Not uncommon for Tollywood films. India has at least 5 film industries. Tollywood is the largest. In fact they have the largest filmmaking complex in the world. Based on my experience Tollywood seems to specialize in large budget action movies, where Bollywood tends to make more romantic comedies.

Even though the primary storytelling is not subtle, each scene has multiple layera of symbolism, metaphors and motifs related to themes of their character, relationship, national unity, cultural oppression, Hindu mythology, etc. E.g. @4:17 the steam train is not random, it links to the fire/water motof. At the high point of their friendship fire and water together can generate steam, a force powerful enough to drive a train. At the low point pre-interval fighting fire against water just results in extinguished nothing.

Like at start a guy like winter soldier jumps into a crowd of hundreds and beat the shit out of them. Then a guy escapes a wolf,fights a tiger and captures it. And then comes the bridge scene. Meeting with best frnd for 1st time under a bridge hanging with ropes while the river set on fire. And it's just 40 mints into the film. And then the title card drops. RRR!

I really recommend u to watch the bollywood movie "Sardar Uddham". It's not over the top. Completely opposite. It's a very serious historical drama movie about a massacre led by the british. It's of peacefully protesting innocents where the British open fired on unarmed citizens. It's a very good movie which was rejected by the indian panel for Oscars cause they felt like it will hurt the British sentiments even tho everything shown is real & documented.

Lol Indian films have an interval cos they’re usually 3 hours long and people would be annoyed if they had to miss some of the movie cos they needed a piss. While I’m sure it does, it’s purpose isn’t for extra revenue (even OTT released movies will have intervals).

Guys, Please watch "Gangs of Wasseypur 1 and 2". It's one of the greatest movie to have come out of the Indian Cinema. The movies is set in the hinterlands of India spanning decades and generations, and the story is about the coal mafias and politicians. Trust me after watching this movie...you will have a whole new appreciation for the Indian cinema.I know rrr is alll about bravado, bromance and epicness but this is movie is on a different level and the acting in this movie is some of the best you will see in the whole wide world. You will not be disappointed that's for sure. Even, Martin Scorcese applauded this movie.
