Is this the moment and movie that finally bridges the gap between Indian cinema and Western audiences? As Drinker noted, Hollywood simply isn’t putting out good movies anymore, and worse still creates productions in bad faith steeped in agenda that makes good storytelling impossible. @@Satya.Online Right... But for comparison, the standard Battleaxe, and I'm talking about weapons for warfare, hardly exeeded 7lb. weight (3kg really, for normal people). A greatsword, not really common due to it's hard-to manage nature, cost and uneffectiveness, wouldn't get to the 10lb range (maybe a german Zweihänder), and even then, they would be well balanced for wielding. A standard polearm wouldn't get that heavy, though the weight distribution would make it pretty taxing. Only after repeated use, of course. To begin with, you would need to weigh like a truck to swing around a 130lb bike, otherwise you would just fly off balance and fall over, no matter how heavy you are. And it's not well balanced in the slightest. Heck, it would be about as hard as to swing around a fully grown man in much the same manner... The heaviest weapon effectively wielded by the strongest human in history probably wouldn't weigh a tenth of that thing. I would like to see someone swing around a normal bike like it was a maul Maybe you could spin with it, and it's certainly plausible one would be able to throw it a bit, but you know... Hollywood blockbusters and action movies seldom make any realistic combat, and they *try* to hide it and pretend, movies like these throw such things out of the window. Rule-of-cool all the way, and it's a great, awesome thing to turn off your brain for and enjoy, but let's not pretend it's grounded in reality. I would love it if in some future pitch meeting, the writer actually comes to the producer with an excellent story, and bit by bit the producer deliberately destroys the movie, to end up with the movie that was actually made. So far only the writer seems to decide everything in the movies, while the producer guy doesn't seem to have too much say in the matter.

For me because its intentions are entirely earnest. Despite how rediculous it gets it's totally without Hollywood - tropes, cynicism and politics - which is so refreshing. It does include many Indian film tropes though and the theme of a strong man getting brought low then fighting back to triumph is common. All that aside, yeh throwing a leopard at someone was cool.

RRR is so unbelievable that ryan has to put snippets of that scene happening to reconfirm that they did happen. This is the first time i seen a pitch meeting doing it. Also, RRR is first a working title with the names of the three leads, Ram charan, Rama Rao and Rajamouli(Director). The name became so popular that they did not want to change that and just made a title around it
@omnicurious29492 жыл бұрын
Actually the lead name expansion became a 'backronym' . Originally it was called 'Ranam, Raudram, Rudiram' (War, Valor, Gore)....Telugu words (Sanskrit roots). Even though it rolls off the tongues of Telugu speaking people, they felt it would be hard for the North Indians (who have speak Hindi a hotch-potch of Arabi-Persian-Sanskrit derived words). So, while looking for an alternative name they 'joked' that it stood for the names of the actors/director. Eventually they chose 'Rise, Roar, Revolt)...to attract non-Indian audiences too.

Loved that this touched on the leg healing leaves after the piggy back fight scene (that's a sentence I wrote!). After seeing the film (on IMAX, highly recommended if it get's a rerelease) I made a (if I'm honest pitch meeting inspired) joke to my wife about the poor writer who spent ages putting in call backs and set up for that fight to be vaguely logical only to be told that there's going to be a fight in the next scene that needs him running around and going "fine then, magic leaves!" in exasperation. Never thought I'd see the genuine Pitch Meeting article! Also can't believe the dance off didn't get mentioned - dancing the British into submission is tight!

I agree that it’s bonkers that the dance battle got left out and also THE SNAKE BITE? Cuz that part was absolutely bananas.

Western people ever heard of Ayurveda? Come on. Our people living in forest have known of healing herbs.. that's called jadibuti.. Although they can't be so instant working. 🤣🤣🤣

@@mansisingh2336 Not if it's Sanjeevani Booti. Rajamouli was going with more of a mythological story anyways so it would fit in.

I'm a Fiji born Indian half Kannadiga half Tamil but now an American citizen and I gotta give you props for doing this one. Indian cinema is filled with so many physics no content it is absolutely hilarious especially when its supposed to be serious LMBO! Also, its funny you didn't have the usual glass doors with the movie production company name printed on them lol DVV Entertainments is the movie production company that made RRR. You have to do more Indian movies, with the amount Physics No content they have the jokes write themselves.

BRO!! THIS IS NUTS! I'VE been watching for like 4years And I never expected you would make a pitch meeting on Indian cinema, especially one from our region. Thank you❤️❤️

This feels like the next level Ryan George.... The delivery of the catchphrases and the running jokes is even crazier more meta and self aware!
