the main difference btw biryani n pulao tanmay is that Rice is roasted and then boiled n steamed in pulao and in biryani rice is boiled (half) and then steamed to absorb flavours, texture of the rice is different in both but "veg biryani exists" and its amazing :)

I have had all the veg biryani pulav collection from ITC (Maratha) on swiggy, 4 choices in veg. It comes roughly at 650 (Rs 100 discount coupon) . It comes Raita or Salan and 1 Gulaab jamun . It does not have the China container which comes from dum pukht, The Rs 2000 Biryani of ITC in Mumbai comes with China container and cover. The beherouz Biryani is boring. In Mumbai near my house there is a veg restaurant called Curry twist which sales Gucci Biryani at Rs 480 a plate 350 gm against 500 gm of ITC

So as a biriyani chef, There is some difference in biriyani and pulao but biriyani can be veg and pulao can also be non veg. Biriyani is supposed to be cooked in Layers . Low layer is either khade masale then white rice then veggies then dum rice. If we dont put meat but cook it in the way as dum, it is biriyani. if we cook rice in cooker with veggies and put chicken in it , it will be chicken pulao
