RS AERO HOW-TO SERIES: The Vang

Boom vang is THE most important thing to get right on an Aero's rigging. This video shows you how! The sail needs to be fully up (see other video in this series about that). With brand new lines, you may need to tension the system a few times to get rid of stretch/creep for optimal setup.
Note: When I say "in light air" in the video, I mean when running dead downwind or going by-the-lee in light/drifting conditions. You'd want more vang on when going upwind or reaching.

If you use a larkshead to attach the spectra loop on the mast to the shackle you increase the throw still more :)

I find setting up for my 7 without the additional knot perfectly sets up the knotted, longer throw for the 9.
