*My Written Guide For The Pools/Fires Puzzle* A lot of people seem to be having trouble with this part that starts at 08:44 (make sure you do everything before that time before reading this) and ends at 12:15. It requires you to know quite a bit of information which I do cover in the video but it might be easier to understand if presented in a written form since it’s so much. The goal is to get the bugs to disperse from the five pools in the area by creating a fire using a certain combination of flowers. I can not tell you what that combination is as it varies for different players. This will require you to guess but there is a strategy to it that will make your life a lot easier than just guessing blindly. There will be stones by the fire and those stones are supposed to tell you what flowers to use. We don’t actually know the answer because they were mixed up so think of this in terms of you are trying to figure out which stone represents which flower then use that information to figure out the combination; NOT try to figure out each combination individually. I would suggest always using the examine option on the pile of stones to ensure that you don’t miss any. There will ALWAYS be a long brown stone which represents Eucalyptus Logs so one is required for every attempt. Start at the pool just north of Seegud where there should only be one other stone other than the long brown one. Make note of what that other stone is then use each flower one at a time until it works and also make note of which flower worked. Some of the pools share the same stone, you make these notes so you can use that information for other pools instead of guessing when you see the same stones. On top of that, different stones can NOT represent the same flower so if you see a different stone, it has to be one of the ones you haven’t figured out yet. There is a certain order you should do the pools in. The second pool you should go to is the one to the very east. Third pool is the middle one. Fourth pool just west of that. Fifth and last pool, all the way to the west. The last pool has the most stones but it shouldn’t require any guessing as you should already know all of them except one but the last stone has to be the only flower you haven’t used yet. I am also going to write the solution I got below. Despite it varying for different players, there are only so many possibilities so if you get lucky, you might have the same solution as me. Since you have to guess anyways, this can be used as a decent starting point. *Not guaranteed to work of course..* Yellow Egg: Lavender Red Sphere: Primweed Green Gumdrop: Tansymum Purple Tall: Stinkbloom Orange Squarish: Fever Grass

If you forget to note down which flowers you burned for either of these pits, speak to Snarrk. She will remind you which flower was placed under each pit that you have dispersed insects from so far.

Not sure if it was just bad luck but i could not catching the kebbits and platypodes UNLESS i lit the herbs on fire. i was smoking the traps, had a hunter outfit on, and i have 99 hunter. boulder traps would fail every time unless i lit fever plant. box traps failed 10 times in a row, lit one lavander and caught all 4 in a row.

UPDATE: This quest is so bugged. While trying to catch the kebbits, the eastern grouping of rocks for traps were not even showing up for me. Took me 10 minutes of trying to lure the last kebbit to the western rocks before realizing that it was bugged. Relogged and that fixed it. As of now, I have legitimately spent 45 minutes trying to catch the 5th wimpy bird. Without fail, the bird constantly resets my trap, and cannot be attracted by the correct plant exactly as I did for the first 4 birds. Beyond frustrated with this poor excuse of a quest. I have given up on the wimpy birds and moved on to the platypus. I have counted a consecutive 37 failures for the box trap to capture a single one. Im 62 hunter. This quest is bugged or I'm shadow banned.

Sometimes if I'm being lazy I'll buy items for quests off ge. Don't in this case. I had offers up to 50k for the tatty furs (total of 400k!) before I realized what I had offered, and they only take about 2 minutes to get. Everything can be procured nearby!

Make sure to follow the order that I did them in because the first pool has the least amount of stones. More stones = more flowers so some pools may require more flowers than others. 3. For starters, what does your quest log actually say? It usually gives you some kind of hint as to what you are supposed to do next which can indicate what step you may have missed, if any

@@ngchazzey2330 maybe you missed the steps before it and it’s just not letting you continue? What I usually suggest is to open the quest up from your quest log ingame and read the last bit of it. It usually tells you or at least give you a hint as to what to do next.

Are you only using 1 flower? The second pool requires 2 flowers, one of which is the one from the first pool and the second flower is one of the other 4. Also don’t forget a log with each attempt.

@@Cre8_kos every attempt requires a eucalyptus log no matter what and different pits require a different number of flowers that correspond to the number of rocks. You can’t just randomly try different flowers on a random pit like that. I highly suggest following my method shown in the video. I also have a written version in my pinned comment.

There are a few reasons why that might be the case: -Make sure you are using a eucalyptus log for every attempt -Each pool require different number of flowers so if you are using the wrong number of flowers on the wrong pool, it will always be wrong -Make sure you have completed every step up until that point (check your quest log in game - it will tell you what you are supposed to be doing)

Every attempt requires an eucalyptus log and different pools require a different amount of herbs depending on the amount of rocks - meaning it will never work if you just try 1 herb at a time.

Did you understand my explanation about how the rocks represent certain flowers? There is some guessing involved, yes but you have to use the rocks to help you as well. Also the pools after the first one require more than 1 flower so you have to make sure multiple flowers are correct. Be sure to use an eucalyptus log for every fire.

My guides are meant to assist Ironman accounts as well as regular accounts. If you don’t know, Ironman accounts aren’t allowed to trade so they have get everything themselves. I try to help them out by trying to explain where to get everything. The ogre bow and arrows are only for Ironman accounts who still need to get the raw chompy which was written on the list. If you are not an Ironman account, you can largely ignore the white text on my item lists unless there’s something specific you are looking for.
