I just wish they'd balance out some of the weapons. i'm a medic main and The SLRs get fucking outgunned by ALL the classes, and that's not a question of skill. When automaticos and hellriegels outgun you in your supposed effective range there's a problem. hopefully they fix some of the looming balance issues in the new DLC.

***** I play medic mostly as well and what you say just isn' true. Medic guns do just fine against assaults at medium to long ranges. Yes you may get out gunned at medium range by an automatico, but that is a testament to the assault players skill at controlling recoil. Not everyone is capable of using the automatico effectively at medium range. Dice needs to focus more on getting their game to work properly. There is still way too many bugs and it's my opinion that the game got worse after the latest patch. Netcode isn't great either, as in all battlefield games you get shot around corners too often.

Barely acceptable in terms of performance? Levelcap you are off your rocker. This gun can 2 shot people out to 44 meters! I can beat every class at medium range by just 2 shotting them in the chest. I can beat Mondragons and the S1916. Just 'tap' 'tap' and the enemy is down. I think its one of the best weapons in the game.

RaptorTheMLGAce It's not balanced compared to the other DMRs. It has a minimum of 3 hits to kill but only a 5 round magazine. That means you generally can't fight more than one enemy at a time, and you'll be wasting a lot of time constantly sitting through the M1906's long reload animation. The Autoloader has a 26 round magazine with that same 3 shot kill. Why would anyone pick the M1906 over the Autoloader? What niche does the M1906 fill that makes it worth picking over other DMRs?

You sound like you’ve never played Battlefield. Using medic class (called assault in BF3 and 4) isn’t about reviving all the time. Some revive attempts will get you killed and one eventually learns when reviving without getting killed is possible

The factory variant is just perfect for the distance I keep playing as a medic (close enough to provide meds and revives, but not in the middle of all the gas and grenade spam). Looking at the stats I was skeptical about this gun, but when I started to use it I just fell in love with it.

Complaining about 2 shot/3 shot kills for a medic gun... no mention why the sniper shouldn't be more powerful than that. I'm all for balance, but the only benefit to the sniper rifles are the scopes, but no real power difference. We're not all pro's grabbing headshots all the time, and I don't believe the medic rifles should be "as strong" as sniper rifles.

The Stelbslader 1906 should have the damage model of this gun, but with the pinpoint accuracy. So you choose between it with slow reload and faster TTK and the RSC with a faster-mag based reload and more bullets as well as a scope option.

I think the level ten guns still need some help. Excluding the cannon that is the level ten sniper. Every other level ten gun has a gun that can out do it. I think that as you level up you should be able to customize these guns the way you would in bf4.

Has anyone else noticed noticed this game favours not aiming a lot of the time? When I use my sidearm it seems more effective if I just hip fire than if I aim. Hip firing seems to be the way to go now, while I never used to hip fire.

I think dice went pretty realistic with the rate of fire for most of the firearms in the game. Yes, I know it's a video game but Dice did a good job on rate of fire and sounds of each individual gun and caliber. I think the RSC 1917 in real life has a long recoil blow back design and plus the RSC 1917 shoots a very larg caliber for any person to shoot in a rapid succession would be looking at a black and blue shoulder from the pounding of the rifles recoil, it probably is liking getting hit in the shoulder by a professional boxer.

The DLC looks good so far. I hope it keeps BF1 fresh and makes it worth playing like at launch. I don't think the game died out it just got dull. The weapons and new vehicles look interesting and fun. Plus I'm digging the Fort Vaux map a lot.

I agree with your thoughts on this weapon, but I think that all guns in BF1 are made for being fun, otherwise all semi-auto guns and most lmgs would be useless. It depends on preferences and I think that you are used to full auto and that's why you really like assault, and it's fine, it's a videogame and if you have more fun with certain guns it is great. I unlocked this and the optical version. I don't even touch them. I still use the 1907 trench. I love it. Large magazine is what does for me. I'll sacrifice the dmg for that.

Yeah I agree with the damage model issue especially limbs, I get they shouldn't be fatal. However if a bullet can penetrate a limb and hit the chest or tear a leg off it should still be fatal or not significantly reduce damage (probably better than 1 shotting feet). This would resolve Martini-Henry and other high damage slow fire gun issues. Also Selbstalder 1906 should be a 2 shot kill with the arm modifier making it 3 because it has a higher RoF.

If the DMRs in BF4 and BF1 cannot one shot headshot, it's because it's not only (in bf4 ) or at all ( in bf1 ) for the Recon class. In BF3, the DMRs were only for the recon and so it was acceptable that they could one shot headshot short to mid range.

Levelcap Ever link to the ForgotenWeapons channel? Does review on a lot of the old guns from WW1&2 a lot used in BF1.. Interesting the amount of detail DICE has done with regards to reloads especially with this weapon you had to reload the clip from the side otherwise it would fall out, among other weapons. Pretty cool to play the game then watch the actual guns shoot and their part in the wars

For the next loadout do the Hacksaw ridge loadout Don't use weapons(primary nor secondary) You're only allowed to get points by reviving teammates or capping objectives You are Desmond Doss,a WW2 medic that didn't want to bring a weapon in combat,he didn't take life,he saved it. The penalty for winging an enemy does seem extremely strong given the shite RoF! Either way looking forward to trying it out, the mag capacity on this gun compared to Autoloading Marksman/1906 will seem like a dream for anyone not used to having a ridiculous 20 odd bullet mag to spray and miss all over the map.

My main complaint with BF1 right now is that the niches and balance on the weapons just doesn't feel like they transfer over well from BF4. Guns just often don't seem to quite fit in the roles I think they should on the surface, e.g. right here with the slow-firing, heavy hitting gun being worse at long range than most of the other medic weapons.
