[RSHD] - Real Steel Then Vs Now

Heyo!
Well, this recently crossed my mind, and fortunately I was able to find old school Real Steel videos with good image and audio quality, so I wanted to compare how the game looks 10 years after being released. As you can see, many things stay pretty much the same, however, there’s also a lot more stuff that changes, mostly aesthetically like the graphics and the sound effects. Which version do you like better? Hope y’all like! :3

honestly, i feel like the original versions of both this and WRB feel more like actual real steel games, im pretty sure the most recent one dosen't even have the real steel name on it. one of my biggest gripes i have with the modern versions is how it really never feels like grounded in reality, at least to the movies standards. instead, theres flying robots with giant scythes that are made of dark matter against other robots that feel way too much for real steel. each robot in that movie felt like they belonged, and looked as if you could build one and fight with it. the newer robots in the games feel like they're trying to 1-up eachother constantly. while some of the graphical changes are nice, i just personally feel like the old versions feel like a snapshot of that time period around real steels release.

@@hollowwar8288 even if the older games looked outdated, it still felt like a real steel experience. same with the XBOX game, they all felt authentic to me. i remember a long time ago when i opened the app and the trailer for albino showed up, i was ecstatic at the idea of all these cool robots from the movie just in my hands, but now, it just feels like its just something that happens, and when it does, it dosen't really leave an impact on me.

That is really true. Some of the new robots don't make the game feel like Real Steel anymore, more like a really futuristic robot game. Feels like putting a caveman in a modern city.

It has always had good graphics since its inception, and now it also keeps the good graphics, that's what I like about this game for its graphics and playability

I think the old playability was actually harder and more challenging, if they managed to bring that level of difficulty back while keeping today’s graphics, it would be perfect

I was able to get the old version on the game in a MacBook Air (the old one) from its App Store and honestly it was way better the crowd made the mood way more better honestly 2011 is best in my opinion

This is a inspiration from another comment: I heard a person talking about how real steel lost its charm with op robots and I agree. Look at zero g he launches literal missiles as his special and has a jetpack at least building a robot has already been done. But using a freaking jetpack!? I don’t like the new versions…

That's because ZeroG was never meant to be in Real Steel. He was made for another game called Ultimate Robot Fighting, in which robots are much more advanced and powerful.

Yes. In the older version, all bots had their own intro voice. It wasn’t until 2012 or 2013 that Reliance Games switched them for one same announcer for all of them.

@@BruhBot-jp8ev I still don’t understand your point. What effects? The only “effects” are the sparks on each hit. And getting knocked back too far? That’s remained the exact same since the game was released. The only robot that gets knocked back more than the rest is Asura when you give him a hook, but that’s it.

@@BruhBot-jp8ev RS WRB did look smoother in its earlier versions, I’ll grant you that. But Real Steel Champions is still quite smooth in comparison to it. And WRB 2 is the smoothest of the entire franchise.

I like both, but I like the old one more in my opinion. The old menu music is better for sure, but the current roster is better. Speaking of old Real Steel, I was able to rip assets from the Crimson Carnage version which is why I have old Real Steel renders in my profile picture. I ripped assets from old WRB too, the version I played on my channel which is the 2nd version. While ripping WRB assets. I saw that Hotrod and Grumpelsteel were made in 2013, I saw their models, no textures though. And I guess there was a prototype Aquabot and Atom loading screen pose and menu icon. And I guess Nitro and Gambit's models and textures were there too. Nitro had a prototype icon as well. But no no loading screen pose. To be honest, I could probably upload the URF OST on my channel since I ripped some stuff from URF as well. Also, is Robocop in URF cause I saw some card of Robocop. And the version I'm stuck with is a version from 2015. Not the current one.

There are Forty IV and Jonnie Law, both of them cop robots, but no Robocop himself, plus there’s no reason why he should be, Reliance Games doesn’t have any license whatsoever to anything related to Robocop

Honestly gotto go with Old version the new versions good. But i gotto gp with the old version the reasons. The styel is more of a colloging metal/steel and the maps had people which make more detale and the music kinda bopping But the new version is not realy like Real steel. Tbh
