You’ve got over 22,000 subscribers. There are companies out there that will gladly give you a free camera for a review. KZbin creators do this all the time.

Hey Knight, I had thought about that but not too sure who I would contact.

You can call or send a email and tell them you would like to get one of their cameras for review. I sent an email and asked but my channel is not big enough. I just started it. So pick a company and send an email and wait and see. Good Luck.

@@TechMindsOfficial Wondering if like webpages linking had or have "associates" programs you can apply for online. Thinking ask the sales support for youtube related product reviews. When I was in industry, I was surprised how even expensive equipment would be left with me after researching performance and other than me needing space and contacting to return... they'd just leave there.

Shifting the TX frequency by a small amount and monitoring how the spur frequency changes gives you a clue as to how the spurious signal is being generated. If it changes in frequency by the same amount as our TX shifted, then the spur may be being modulated on to the carrier (e.g. a PLL reference clock or switching power supply). If it changes by some integer amount, e.g 3 times the shift, then it could be a 3rd harmonic/mixing product being mixed down in to the monitored band.

dB is used to describe power relative to a reference, e,g. "The first spurious signal is 30 dB below the 1 GHz carrier. If you are talking about the carrier, you don't say it's "at -10 dB". If you want to refer to the power level of the carrier it's actual power level, then it can be referenced for example to 1 mW of power, then you would say the carrier is at a -10dBm power level. Ok? Understood? Otherwise, respectfully, you confuse people who aren't very familiar and they learn your bad terminology habits.

That's a fairly narrow interpretation of what a dB is. It is not always about power and there is not always a reference denominator attached to the "dB". He could have chosen his ref level in dBv, stating the source impedance. He correctly called his attenuator a 10dB attenuator. And if he goes on to measure the through loss of his cable, that will be a dB value also, as would his return loss if he were to measure it. dB's quite happily live on their own when we understand what they are referencing. It's not always about dBm's. But I agree, having chosen 0dBm as his reference level, he should have reported his levels in terms of dBm also.

Good point since the units of the scale on the graph in the software is dBm (milliWatts 0 dBm = 1mW) While it's true that we talk about dB as a relationship between 2 points, in the case when you're referencing the overall scale you would say dBm which refers to a literal power level or even two points on that same scale can be referenced either way. The main thing for us who use these terms is to understand what they really mean. -3dBm = 0.5 mW, 0 dBm = 1 mW, 30 dBm = 1 Watt, 60dbm = 1000 Watts, etc. dB = 10 log (P1 / P2), or dB = 20 log (V1 / V2)

I was looking at cheap analyzers on Ebay and thought, "I wonder if I can use my RspDX as a spec analyzer..." Imagine my surprise to see actual software exactly for that purpose. :)

Me too. Was looking at The Tiny SA ultra. But minimum BW is too wide to get a decent look at 2.7kh wide SSB in detail.(Min BW on Tiny SA is 2.7khz) maybe this software will do the trick?

Remember that attenuators have a bandwidth limit that they work within. If you go outside that bandwidth, your signal may not be attenuated like you expect !! So be very careful not to overload/fry the front end of your receiving SDR or spectrum analyzer. (73)

I was wondering about the Adalm Pluto since you're using SDRAngel and I want to say that's the one SDR software that works with the Pluto. Looks like there are some TXCO 0.2ppm hacks to improve performance on the Pluto's also that are motivating me to invest in since a great price for a 70MHz to 6GHz transceiver (once firmware is modified/upgraded) device. Thanks for sharing!

The program is excellent in testing antennas with your RSP models and or field testing Iused many times for this reason But notice it can not tepace a standard spectrum analyzer for very wide spans

Great Video, 👍I wonder if you know, how much power input from a transmitter can the RSPDUO front end handle ie: with a 10 db att fitted inline? in Watt's please....

Great video - I ise the software already. Any idea what causes the step part way through the scan? It is present even when the TX was disabled.

So you could checkout new radios as they come onto the market to see the quality of signal they would be putting out.

Maybe that 5MHz lower spur is the DC offset(pre-upconversion) from the LimeSDR.

Excellent video and using software....I need a spectrum analyzer to see the composite output of an audio processor/stereo generator for a Broadcast FM radio transmitter. I need to align and adjust the 19khz Pilot injection and phase and adjust 38khz which is part of the stereo audio that modulates the Stereo FM broadcast transmitter. Do I need your product(s)?
