In my opinion, Árstíðir and Sigur Rós perfectly represent Iceland. Their music is great, cold and magic, like their country. When I'm listening to Árstíðir, I feel like I'm in front of a fireplace, during a snowstorm.

Dogtown you should try band called "Múm". This is icelandic atmosphere, i think.

Deblikoff I listen to a lot of icelandic bands and I've never really listened to Múm, this is awesome ! Thank you a lot. You should try Samaris, Hjaltalin, Hymnalaya or even Solstafir if you want some Icelandic atmosphere. Have a good day !

"Shine" is one of my absolute favourites, almost purely because of the story that plays in my head when I hear it; one of a prisoner sentenced to execution. The shining referenced is the blade being raised as his/her turn is called.

I don’t mind groups like Of Monsters And Men and Kaleo; but, talented as both bands are, they don’t evoke Iceland (I’ve been twice) for me. I know that blues rock (i.e., like Kaleo) is pretty popular in Iceland, which I like, as I can find any number of local bands playing in different bars across Reykjavik. But, when I want to listen to “Icelandic music”, I turn to sounds like this, and of course Sigur Ros.
