बिम्सटेक का चौथा शिखर सम्मेलन नेपाल की राजधानी काठमांडू में हुआ। इस सम्मेलन में सदस्य देशों के बीच कई महत्वपूर्ण बातों पर चर्चा और सहमति बनी।बिम्‍स्‍टेक देशों के नेताओं ने बंगाल की खाड़ी क्षेत्र में शांति, समृद्धि और सतत् विकास के लिए सार्थक सहयोग और एकजुटता की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई है। साथ ही बिम्‍स्‍टेक को गतिशील, प्रभावी संगठन बनाने पर जोर दिया गया। सार्क और ब्रिक्स जैसे संगठनों के अलावा बिम्सटेक देशों का संगठन भी भारत के लिए बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है। ऐसे में विशेष के इस अंक मे हम जानेंगे कि बिम्सटेक क्या है, इसका इतिहास क्या है और ये संगठन सार्क जैसे संगठनो से किस तरह अलग है और यह क्यों बिम्सटेक भारत के लिए इतना महत्वपूर्ण है।
