Oh wow, somebody founded an archive from the earlier years of RTÉ, because it's so hard to find those ones (the Irish broadcaster have lost their archives from 1961-1977).

Good video, their news intros have been pretty good from the beginning. And the iconic RTÉ News Theme since 2009 goes well with it.The best studio is 1993-1998,that was quite something else with all the green. Also first time seeing pre 80's RTÉ News intros

Very nice video and rare finds!! I like the current ones, 1989 - 1990 and 1992 - 1993 are legendary!

The 1989 Theme on that 1o clock intro Has filtered audio as at that time killianm2 Had to partial make the audio partially muted on the intro theme because of bogus copyright issues

Nice video! It kinda more like TVNZ vibes!!! But 1961-1964 intro's are missing!

2:46 - 3:45 That part where some certain local tv, the part of our state TV in Indonesian part of Borneo Island take the inspiration and become the theme of their daily news. I didn't know how they edit it, but the end of the news intro is magical.

Nice. Yeah rare footage before 80's. 1993-1995 studio looks big, thanks to camera angle after intro. And 2009 is the start of legendary music.

El periodo 2009-2014 fue increíble. Tanto gráfica como musicalmente (es increíble que su actual sintonía recién fuera estrenada ahí, parece más histórica)

So RTÉ's Main News Was Supposed To Air At 6:00pm, But Due To The Angelus Prayer They Pushed To 6:01pm Under The Name ''RTÉ Six One News'' BTW: The Majority Of RTÉ's News Output Is Fully In English, But Also Broadcast In Gaelic Language (As Nuacht RTÉ) As Well.

@@nbguyrandomchannel obviously, it won't happen on actual broadcast, but we don't have a lot RTÉ archive from that time. Maybe actual studio for a comedy sketch, also this video came from ending of Newsbeat in 1971.

9:19 is a mock-up I made, sorry. I wanted to edit out all the frustrating nonsense from one of the silliest (but not THE silliest) RTE Continuity Ident and News intro. Here, there are a couple of videos after my one from the same era - they leave in the pointless rubbish in the news intro that someone somewhere once thought it was necessary to include. On RTE more generally, more than 50 years in broadcasting (in mostly English) and they never once made a TV show or series that was popular enough to be purchased by any mainstream TV provider outside the country. Quite the non-achievement, given the opportunity and the tax-payer money that it spent over the years.
