@Conor123Lockhart1 The reason why they wanted to keep he green camo uniforms was because the French Army there were wearing desert camo. Irish Army troops did not want the locals to get them mixed up with the French ever. France has a history of decades of cruel occupation when Chad was part of French Equatorial Africa and were still not popular. The green camo uniforms would have been just as comfortable in the heat, the only difference is color.

@rud100le Desert uniforms would not be too expensive, the big advantage of having green camo in the desert for Irish troops is that Ireland is the only country that does anything so blatant on UN missions. Irish Army are the special forces of UN peacekeeping. The UN is missing having Irish troops a lot for the next 4 years. But Irish soldiers are so popular, even often with the enemy that the UN are defending against, that they need a way to stand out from the less popular countries soldiers.

@upthedub2 Actually there was a reason for dressing bright green in the desert, You see the frogs who were there as peackeepers were dressed in desert sand camo, but like in Ireland, everyone in Chad hated the frogs, so the Irish who diddnt really have any enimies there wanted to look as different as possible, a lot of frogs got shot at, no Irish were shot at, I think the Danish also used green camo to look different from the frogs. If you hate the frogs, dont dress like them. What do you think?

@upthedub2 I think you suffer from Antisocial Personality Disorder, or ASPD. This is a common mental condition for people who have suffered some form of abuse when they were younger that has affected their mental faculties when they mature. I suggest you plesae see a psychaitrist or councillor. I wish I could help you but I only have a basic degree in psychology. I hope you get better, I really do, its terrible to see someone suffering from ASPD. Get well soon.
