The conversation they have about digital vs physical is really interesting in 2023. It should have always been assumed something can happen to your digital downloads and it takes a good while into the discussion until this point is brought up. Licensed games with licensing contracts are no longer available for purchase on stores, production companies are deleting their tv shows and movies from their services. Physical media is always superior.

so? the ultraviolet radiation accompanying it can kill you... not light itself
@reeceadam555810 жыл бұрын
Prashant Kumar no, radiation doesn't 'accompany' light, light IS radiation. I am not saying Gavin is correct, because visible light doesn't affect us.
@DragonSword35d10 жыл бұрын
Reece Adam Pretty sure that isn't quite true. It can, but it depends on the source and the intensity. Sure there is more to it, but it can affect us. It's not all negative, but there is an effect.

Of course someone would be that stupid. Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying "End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH", the paint wouldn't even have time to dry. -Regards to the humans destroying themselves conversation.

My Grandfather had a fatal hart attack while driving on the freeway during rush hour . He ended up bouncing off of the side guide rails while my grandmother was trying to control the vehicle .How they hit no other cars is amazing but, people were giving him the finger while he was slumped over the steering wheel . A couple of 20 year old's in their brand new corvette pulled in front of them and and slowed the vehicle down by braking from the front .They saved my grandmothers life .

In regard to the "nobody has bad backs anymore", it depends. My boyfriend works in a coal mine and on his days off he's a mechanic, so he frequently has problems. Yeah, most dogs lock their jaw when they grab something, so it makes it easier to subdue, if that means a couple of needles and some stitches later on, it's a hell of a lot better alternative than getting your throat torn out. That being said, not all dogs lock their jaw and after the first bite they bite again and again which could lead to you losing the arm entirely.
@BritishSarcasm12 жыл бұрын
By that logic so are Radio waves - Electromagnetic spectrum is just a spectrum of wavelengths and the energy they carry - it's just so that the visible light we see as 'white' contains all the wavelengths within the visible part of the spectrum, and the wavelength for the colour 'red' is very close to infra-red, which as you said is heat. But 'Light' is usually classified as something our eyes can see.
@halfdemented12 жыл бұрын
I would suggest that you could also digitally download your game disc to your console. Then the disc would be obsolete and you can't hand it out at the price of having it on your console instead, or you have a certain amount of times you could download it from the disc, like 2 or 3 times. It sounds like an idea and I don't know how to reinforce to almost bullet proof but it sounds neat to think of.

I think you might have misinterpreted my comment. What I said was that visible light and gamma rays are both EM radiation, only their photons are of a different energy. The visible light expelled from a nuclear blast cannot kill you, but other types of stronger radiation can. Gamma rays can for example dissociate two bonded atoms from each other and hurt the cells in your body, causing you to die.

i actually love steam, you can buy Retail Disc, activate the code on steam, and you have both - digital option to download, and the physical option to install the game, the best part is, that you dont need the actual CD afterwards, you still have the physical version of the game, but if you lose/destroy the CD, you can still play your game, without having the need to buy another CD. I hated that before I got into steam, now i dont buy anything, if it doesnt support steam.
