Actually, whenever she uses it, she begins moving much faster than other combatants. You're probably right to say "time dilation" but I think she really is manipulating it slightly, allowing herself to move "faster" by way of dilating time around herself. It seems as though it may come with some drawbacks, however; we saw her opponent at the end of season 2 just crush her after she used it. My theory is that there is a "rubber band effect," and that she is temporarily slowed down after using it. This would explain why she only seems to use it when she thinks it will end the fight immediately.

This song was poignant when it came out but now it's more like a prophecy, I know some people will disagree but the 'Monty era' of RWBY was the golden age of the show because it was choppy but it had the heart and soul of passion project that finally got off the drawing board. Rooster Teeth as a company is a shadow of its former self, Full-Screen chewed up and spat out Machinima and they will do the same to RT once the money well runs dry.

I feel like this song describes our world right now. The world has always been a cruel and dangerous place, but recently, it's been more dangerous. Terrorist attacks across several countries, Mexico's people fighting for their education, Venezuela in need of food, wars in a variety of countries with civilian and children casualties, people in the U.S, especially minorities, in fear of the the United States police departments, an anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric spreading across major countries, Britain leaving the E.U leading to a variety of bad consequences, NATO encouraging the U.S to be place more soldiers near Russia, The atrocities against the LGBT+ world community And those are only the ones I can think of at the moment. 🙁

If there's one thing I want to request from RT, it's to stop telling us about stuff in the songs and start SHOWING it. They have all these dark elements about the death of Ruby's mother, sacrifice, the start of a war, yet none of these things have been revealed yet, not really. ESPECIALLY Ruby, since she hasn't given ANY indication that she's broken up over her mother's death at all in the series. The other leitmotifs fit because they're general character descriptions, but Die, Sacrifice, Red Like Roses? No, not yet... Well, Die in the sense that things are escalating, but nothing about Sacrifice yet...

The Dragons Pit I can somewhat understand Die being placed here considering the WF rally, but it's actually far more appropriate in the finale since we have no clue what the hell Cinder's plan is, so we have no context for Sacrifice, and that's the first major move of the White Fang. Yang literally said in Episode 6 that Ruby was too young to understand what was going on. For the love of God, I hope that isn't true, because that basically contradicts her entire theme song. LOOK AT IT! I couldn't take it, couldn't stand another minute; Couldn't bear another day without you in it. All of the joy that I had known for all my life Was stripped away from me the minute that you died. To have you in my life was all I ever wanted, But now without you I'm a soul forever haunted. Can't help but feel that I had taken you for granted; No way in Hell that I can ever comprehend this. I wasn't dreaming when they told me you were gone, I was wide awake and feeling that they had to be wrong. How could you leave me when you swore that you would stay? Now I'm trapped inside a nightmare every single f'ing day. It's like a movie, but there's not a happy ending; Every scene fades black, and there's no pretending. This little fairy tale doesn't seem to end well, There's no knight in shining armor who will wake me from the spell. I know you didn't plan this; You tried to do what's right. But in the middle of this madness, I'm the one you left to win this fight. Does this sound like someone who had no clue what the hell was going on when her mother died? FUCK NO! Ruby would be an amazing character if she was suffering in silence and knew from the moment her mother died what it meant that she was never coming back, but she stayed smiling all the while to continue her dream. EternalAir Was it? That was the entire point of the volume, finding out SOMETHING about Cinder's plan, and well, they didn't answer ANYTHING about that question aside from step one. Perhaps it's just the fact that the finale sucked, but I expected to find out a bit more. It felt like team RWBY didn't do anything... Oh wait, they outright SAID THAT THEY DIDN'T. CInder even called the day a success, so what was the point of step one? I can accept Weiss, since we already got other bits about her past like her family issues, motivations from becoming a huntress, and the like. Sadly, I can't accept not finding out anything about Ruby's backstory Oh sure, her mother's dead, but we knew that from the first trailer! Yang's explanation revealed nothing new about Ruby, and it kind of goes against her leitmotif saying that she felt a hole in her heart from the day her mother died. She's the fragging main character, yet other side characters got more development than she did in V2! And by that we mean, THEY GOT ANY DEVELOPMENT AT ALL. Now that I think about it, that reveal would've been done MUCH better if it wasn't the entire point of the first trailer and if Monty and crew didn't flat out state that Ruby mom was dead BACK DURING VOLUME 1.

mhhhm completely agree with you that the RWBY team has made some flaws with character development and new characters .. I think they are adding too many new characters in to handle.I think that could explain many of the main characters story etc are quite undeveloped. Oh, btw, why do YOU think Weiss had declined to talk to her father and sighed after? That made me think about the backstory of Weiss. Shes my fav character :D a lil bitchy for season 1 until she changed her attitude towards ruby.

I know this is way to early, but the voice actor of Ren just passed away which in most series leads to the character being killed off. Which they hinted that Ren wanted to help out a small village at the end of season 2. Also it would help develop team JNPR, other then a romantic or bully related story arc, as well as help develop Nora as a character due to her mostly acting like a child, due to her relations with Ren would cause her to mature. Other then that I could only see death in the back story of Ruby's Mom or Blake having to kill Adam. RIP Monty Oum, RWBY is your masterpiece, and you will be missed dearly by all fans of RWBY.

red like roses kind of foreshadows that Summer didn't want Ruby to become a huntress. Mirror Mirror kind of explained that Weiss is only a bitch due to her never having someone who cares for her, like a good friend. From Shadows foreshadowed Blake's past with the White Fang. I Burn is just a song about beating people to a pulp. The openings are really what are foreshadowing a lot. if you look at the lyrics for "This Will Be the Day" you can see that the song was talking about the students of Beacon finally have gotten to the point and it is finally their day and the future is ahead of them. Time to Say Goodbye says that this isn't what I expected, I have to become an adult faster than I thought and that was a bit of the theme throughout season 2. Blake wanted to fix things whereas Ruby, Yang, and Weiss wanted to kind of enjoy themselves but they realized that they needed to grow up and solve this issue fast. When It Falls foreshadows the entire aspect of season 3 so far. War is coming, everything they worked for is falling, peace is ending and the outcome is not good. at least thats my interpretation.
