Why when trying the glitch in 2:01:35 when I change the area luigi floats but mario not? In your case, both ones flote, why? I do it exacly like you do. Can you help me?

Hi, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! You're not doing the same thing as I am, as per the video you uploaded. You didn't get what I said. What happens is, when you advance the text far enough, eventually Mario will automatically jump into the dream world. What you're doing is you're entering the loading zone as soon as possible. What you're supposed to do is enter it *as Mario jumps into the Dream World*. If you hear Mario say "Wah-" when leaving the room, it means it worked. A VERY good visual cue for this is to stand at the Massif Bros (like in the video), mash text and as soon as you finish the text box you walk north. This makes it 100% consistent. Hopes this help!

I entered the Dream World and then left it *without watching the cutscene* beforehand. You have to skip the cutscene by entering the Dream World from above. After that, just mash, and make sure to enter the loading zone south as you jump. :)

1:24:50 I used that glitch and you can't go to Despertador. Did you use a cheat there?
@Pixiuchu3 жыл бұрын
I did not use a cheat code there. To explain... At 1:23:40, I go south into the room and then back in order to get control in the cutscene where he holds you back. I jump using the Y Button without advancing text, and then I advance the text on the top left of the room right before I enter the loading zone. Normally, when you advance the text box by pressing A here, Mario and Luigi are forced to move to a certain spot. While they are moving, they have a special cutscene-only property where they are able to move through NPCs. We call it walk through objects, or WtO. By entering the loading zone while they're forced to go to the spot, we however cancel disabling that property, and are able to bring that property to other places. This allows us to walk through the tree. I jump with the Y button and press the A button before landing at the topleft loading zone.

Can you really go to wakeport just using the glitch in which you jump to the dream world in the mushrise park? But those trees that block the entry to wakeport are like a wall, and you can't go through walls with that glitch.
@Pixiuchu3 жыл бұрын
The trees are considered objects by the game's logic, not walls, so we can pass through with Walk through Objects. We have to get the glitch again in Wakeport to get out of Wakeport, however.

@guill39783 жыл бұрын
How did you find all those glitches?
@Pixiuchu3 жыл бұрын
Not all glitches were found by me! To explain, several glitches were found by several people. I don't know how EXACTLY they found the glitches, but almost all of them were on purpose. TL;DR at the end by the way. The first ever discovered skip (and glitch) useful for speedruns is Dozing Sands Skip, where you would jump on an enemy, enter a battle and then jump on the first frame after leaving the battle. This could have been found by trying to apply glitches from a different game to this one, as sometimes glitches are sort-of-universal. This was found by PedalPowerLuigi in September 2013. It is not being used in speedruns however. Later on, TheMasterHojo (or Isaq21 on Discord) found a skip originally named "Early Grobot" (but is now used for Early Hammers, Feather Skip and later as Mini Mario for Early Grobot). You can see this glitch in the run as soon as we enter Mushrise Park and later on when we leave. Someone found out that you can clip in some random location in Mushrise Park, which caused people to look for more clips since we have confirmation that it's possible. This was one of the first ones. This is also the same reason why Fretzi started glitch hunting and found Somnom Track Skip (at 3:16:13 ). This is the reason why I started glitch hunting... All you did was walk against random walls and hope you go through. And the one skip most people wanted at the time was Early Pajamaja, so I decided to look there. I spent a few minutes and eventually actually clipped out of bounds. It is, to this day, one of the hardest clips that there is in the game, but we don't do it in speedruns. People then, by trying to replicate my clip, found "Battle Reload clip" or BRC, which is a method of clipping out of bounds by leaving a battle. We had already found a way to store a certain cutscene (in Mushrise Park before Wakeport), and it allowed us to skip everything and go straight to Driftwood Shore, however we never had a way to get out of Driftwood Shore. When BRC was found, I had the idea to enter the Golden Pipe in Mount Pajamaja by clipping out of bounds. And after testing, I managed to do it! Though Isaq(???) found a faster way to get there since then, but it was still really cool. This was my first useful contribution to the speedrun, as it skipped Dreamy Pajamaja and saved ~15-20 minutes (possibly less). I would also find the first variation of Early Dozing Sands, using a Toad to clip out of bounds. Unfortunately it was only possible with Mario. A year or two after having found the original clip, I decided to try to clip with Luigi, so I clipped Mario, and then desperately tried to clip Luigi by walking around the walls. Eventually, Luigi actually clipped out, to my surprise. I then tried to clip where Luigi clipped but with Mario and it was actually a full clip! And that's how I found Early Dozing Sands. But of course, we still had to get out of Dozing Sands... So, in the evening, I looked around, hoping to clip, and (again to my surprise) eventually I actually managed to clip out of bounds and get back to Mushrise Park. The fact that it's actually possible is just insanity. I would, a few days later, also end up finding the first ever "Walk through Walls" in the game. It wouldn't be used in speedruns until a few years later (due to a glitch being found that would ultimately render this one useless). And, in all honesty, this glitch in particular was found by complete accident. I was just playing around, having "storage" (or Walk through Objects, but at the time we called it storage) and going through the rock before the first puzzle in Wakeport. That's when I noticed, for the first time in my life, you can apparently talk to the statue. "Oh, it resets puzzles?", I thought. So I flipped a platform and reset the puzzle with the statue. And suddenly I had control in the tutorial I had skipped. And I left the room and had walk through walls. It was insane. It wouldn't be used in speedruns due to complications and would be obsoleted by a glitch that was later found by TheMasterHojo, by the way, which is Early Mount Pajamaja: the CONSISTENT version. It's not clipping out of bounds but rather a completely new way to gain control in cutscenes. He had the idea of saving on top of cutscene triggers while being in a cutscene, and by doing that he managed to get "Walk through Air" (this storage was named by me because I thought it was funny that we had "Walk through Walls/WtW", "Walk through Objects/WtO" and now "Walk through Air/WtA"). This allowed us to stay in the air, which allowed us to enter Mount Pajamaja early and skips the entirety of Wakeport. Through innovation, Lordmagecar (a speedrunner and glitch hunter) would also find Walk through Walls/WtW in Mount Pajamaja, still used in speedruns. I do not know who found the WtW in Driftwood Shore. At this point the speedrun would largely remain unchanged since then for a few years. Someone had the idea to store a cutscene in the dream world in Bowser's Dream, which actually ended up being useful to all of our surprises because we were able to skip Luiginary Ball Hammer, saving a few minutes in the speedrun, but otherwise nothing changed. Eventually I would buy a new O2DS with the idea of speedrunning this game (I didn't have a way to play the game). And I'd start speedrunning the game again, and I'd also hack my 3DS and look into the game from a more nerdy standpoint; I'd create cheat codes and look at RAM Addresses. Something that I was always interested about is what the fuck is up with Wakeport? Basically, I knew that if you skip the Dozite Dream World in Dozing Sands, you'd for SOME reason still have all the necessary Dream World abilities you'd normally have up until then in a Glitchless setting. I wanted to know why, and so with editing RAM Addresses and setting my abilities to a flat zero (meaning I had no abilities at all), I would find out that the game literally gives you all the abilities up until then, setting the address, flipping certain bits (1100 1100; the 1s are being enabled if they're disabled, the rest keep the same). Setting these bits to 1 would mean you'd be able to: - Press the B button to enter Luiginary Works - Drop from Luiginary Stack (learned in the Dozite Pi'illo) - Use Spring Jump (learned in the Dream Stone Spirit Dream World) - Use Ground Pound (also learned in the Dream Stone Spirit DW) Originally, before we entered Pajamaja early, we would just skip the Dozite Pi'illo and for some reason we'd just get the dropping ability by the time we need it again. Once we found Early Pajamaja, we'd notice we can't drop, meaning we have to go through the Dozite Pi'illo just to learn that ability. This is what perked my interest into finding out what in the actual heck is going on in Wakeport, and is how I found out that the abilities are all enabled no matter what in there. This also perked the interest of Lordmagecar, who started to literally craft a route in Wakeport, finding a few glitches in the process that would, ultimately, help with the creation of Dreamy Dozing Sands Skip. And, after a lot of effort, he finally managed to create a complete route that allowed us to completely skip Dreamy Dozing Sands. It has slightly been improved since then but largely remains unchanged. This is also when my original, first ever WtW would be used in speedruns! lol. And then, lastly... The latest skip that was introduced to the game (it's been a year since then... woah.)....... Bowser's Dream Skip... Was found by me... by COMPLETE ACCIDENT! So basically I had a few cheat codes enabled and I was just playing the game for the heck of it. I had the cheat code "Always have control in cutscenes" enabled, along with a speed hack, though they don't matter. I went to the Bowser's Dream introduction cutscene, was just meming around aaaaaand suddenly the elevator is activated. What the fuck? This, obviously, caused me to look into it deeper and eventually I managed to find a way to do it consistently without cheat codes. It was so ridiculously stupid that it was possible. The only other skip found since then was one that was technically already known, but we weren't sure if it saves time. It's to skip the Bedsmith cutscene in Somnom Woods. When I first timed it, I timed it to be a 2 second timesave to skip the cutscene. Though I managed to change that to a ~8 second timesave through optimizations. TL;DR Skips are found by either: - Taking ideas/glitches from other games - Being creative with what you have - By complete accident Fun fact: if one more skip is found that saves half a minute or more, sub 4 hours is free (for me). Right now it's pretty hard, but even a half minute would make it so much more free. A minute skip would make it pretty much completely free (if I had time to speedrun). Hey, if Belgium is going on lockdown, maybe I have time to speedrun...? lol. Sorry if this cutscene was a mess. Edit: I meant, sorry if this reply was a mess... Not cutscene... lol
