Orange juice does wonders. Yes it is acidic, but it also has Vitamin C that is easy to take in. Your body wanted that probably because it needed the Vitamin C to help fight off the food poisoning. Vitamin C helps pretty much everything from positivity to immune systems and everything.

He was probably also SUPER dehydrated from all of that puking, and pooping, and presumably sweating, too. Any kind of liquid would be good to get into him. Doesn't surprise me that he drank like six bottles of it. I was the same way with apple juice when I got over the flu. :P Poor Miles.

I believe Gatorade helps in treating people who are dehydrated especially people who have unstable bowel movements and vomiting all around. I believe its because it balances out the electrolytes you have in your body since it has dropped exponentially because of excretion, vomiting and perspiration. When I was in the same shoes as Miles, I drank nothing but Gatorade and I progressively gotten better, with some medicine of course, after half a day or a day later. P.S. This is not sponsored.

I often drown myself with orange juice when I am sick, especially when I have a sore throat because water hurts to drink but orange juice doesn't or sometimes just not as much. It's funny how people are worried about acidic fluids when your stomach is upset, but like, it's stomach ACID. It's already acidic by nature. Of course you don't want to have too much acidity, heck I threw up once while camping because I had like 10 orange juice boxes and a cheddar smokie hot dog (which was what probably put me over the edge initially), but especially in terms of food poisoning, I feel sometimes it's because something you had lowered the acidity of your stomach which is what made you sick, and that's why acidic things like orange juice helps because of the acidity and Vitamin C

Cherry Chocolate a lot of people from the South use coke as a standard name for carbonated drinks, just like people use the words soda, or pop.

The time when I had food poisoning was the sickest I've been too. I was on the toilet the first time I threw up and I was close enough to the tub and decided it was better than the floor, absolutely awful. I threw up so often that I just had to sleep on my bathroom floor because it was pointless to go to bed.

Yeah food poisoning will screw you up. The day before my sister's college graduation I got food poisoning from the restaurant we went to for celebrations. For most of the evening I wasn't feeling too good. At night I was tossing and turning because I couldn't go to sleep and in the middle of the night I jumped out of bed, ran to the hotel room kitchen sink and unloaded my entire stomach of everything. The sink was half full of my puke and it was a big sink. I was miserable for the rest of the trip and I couldn't see my sister graduate.

Oh yeah. I had food poisoning that got bad that besides vomiting, I also ended up shitting so badly I made a nasty mess in my bathroom and just was out of it for most of the day, and even needed my friend to call the ambulance and I was dehydrated. it SUCKED. X_X

i know this is practically 2 years late, but you did a great job with all of these videos. Miles's story literally laugh the hardest that i ever have. I just couldn't laugh completely because it's late at night and my 2 baby nieces are over and my parents are the next room. Pure gold though, I thought i was going to pass out from not being able to breath from laughing to hard. None the less I have survived.

I was away with my friends for a few days and one night I had a burger at the coffee club and woke up at 6 the next morning to continuous vomiting. We are talking 3 and a half hours of non stop vomiting and none of my friends even thought to come and check on me! Miles at least has some decent friends XD

Food poisoning is the worst, the same honestly happened to me, I couldn't keep anything down. I had to constantly keep drinking water cause even the water would come back up. Biggest difference is that I didn't lose my voice, rather blood vessels in both my eyes and around my eyes had popped and I looked like a raccoon with all the tiny red popped blood vessels, and one eye was completely red while the other half so. When I went to work they thought I had pink eye until I explained what happened, wearing sunglasses indoors to hide it while they healed.

So the part where Miles is talking about him calling the front desk and not being able to talk so he has to whisper, therefore the front desk people start whispering also. That same damn thing happened to me at work one time only I was on the other side of it. I was working in a retail store and was working down an aisle one night and was talking to one of my employees. Well about this time a guy comes around the corner and starts whispering to us and asks if we have any applesauce. I think maybe he is just trying to be polite and not interrupt our conversation and decided to whisper the question. So I in turn whisper back to him, "It's down two aisles". He then whispers, "Thank you" and then leaves. I sat there for a second before I realized that he has laryngitis, (thank god for spell check), and I felt like an ass and hoped he didn't think I was super rude to him.

I did once in first grade. What was great though was that it was at a restaurant on a weekend and my teacher was at the restaurant at her own table. When I went to the bathroom and puked and pooped my pants, I, in my brilliant first grader decision making glory, peeked my head out the door and yelled across the restaurant, "MOM, I POOPED MY PANTS!" My teacher came over and my mom came over and tried to help me out. Best part? Did not need a doctors note for why I missed school the next day.
