I mean, De Killer had to THINK Matt was the person who hired him in order to want to ensure he was found innocent, but that didn't mean it necessarily was him. My working theory for a long time was that Adrian had hired him but pretended to be doing it on Matt's orders, so De Killer thought Matt had hired him through Adrian, when really it was just Adrian.

I admire RT's tact for dealing with the suicide and upsetting imagery through this case, but I also think that in a series that is basically all about solving murder cases and dealing with some fairly mature scenes, I also appreciate the game for displaying it in a way to avoid overloading it with gross imagery yet still communicating the seriousness of the issue

If you do plan to play the games (outside the trilogy) I STRONGLY recommend Apollo Justice/Dual Destinies. Both of those games are set from a defense attorney's POV, and Dual Destinies is probably the best game outside the trilogy. Edit: sadly, to the extent of my knowledge, the Trilogy and the Chronicles are the only ones on PC, none of Edgeworth's games or anything have been ported yet.

Honestly, I got impatient watching the Game Grumps play Ace Attorney back in 2019 and decided to play the games myself. One of the best things I ever did. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend all titles worked on by Shu Takumi since this is his brain-child. Phoenix's personality is based on his own. Takumi worked on 1-4 as well as The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, which are SO damn good. Tbh I'm not gonna crap on anyone else's opinions on the games because I just love seeing other people get into the series, but 5-6 are kinda...worth skipping. I played them because I'm obsessed and attempting to play every single AA game as well as all of Shu Takumi's games, but...part of what makes Ace Attorney so amazing is the story progression. Seeing characters grow and change over the course of multiple games. Old friends and enemies returning. The guy in charge of 5 & 6 implemented a "no spoiler rule" and discouraged the team from making references to previous games, despite the fact that AA4 left some of the most prominent and suspenseful cliffhangers and plot threads out of the entire mainline series if not the entire Ace Attorney franchise. If you wanna keep watching RT, I don't blame you. But if he, for example, stops playing after AA3 is over, those are my recommendations. 1-4 and TGAA. Hell, maybe even Ghost Trick! It's not Ace Attorney, but it's Shu Takumi's writing.
