When I was 16/17 in 1963/64 my brother who was 2 years older than me used to dance like this until we dropped, when we started dancing everybody else just moved to the outskirts of the floor and clapped their hands until we had to take a breather. This brings back all those great memories.

There may or may not be “young Americans” among them. The festival was in Germany and the video was recorded in Germany. I’ve noticed a greater interest in early 1900s-1950s American music and dancing in Eastern European countries than there is here in the USA. Most of the videos of festivals and competitions are from Eastern European countries. I’m thankful for their interest because my small grandchildren love to watch them; we’ve been watching these kind of dance videos together since they could sit on my lap and focus on a television screen. Some of us in the USA are lucky and blessed, living the good life, but very many are not, and the numbers of those who are not, as well as the new groups making up those who are not (the elderly, those who were middle class, disenfranchised youth, people with college degrees), continues to grow into numbers most of us could not imagine in the 1950s-1980s.

@@baronessjane9384 They're both dancing instructors, the guy in the vest is Swedish, the other is German. The German actually choreographed this routine - which is done every year. Look up "RTSF 2019", "RTSF 2020", etc. for more. If "RTSF" doesn't produce a result try "Rock That Swing Festival"

I watch this over and over! I was going to post it on TikTok, but someone beat me to it. This is a yearly thing in Germany! As far as I know, the front guy in the white jacket made up the dance (to this music.) The smaller guy on the right, does all kinds of dances and he is pretty funny too! All of these people, to do it all SO well, practice, practice, practice! More importantly, they love it! Like "Moses Supposes" from "Singin in the Rain" I would guess this is a MUST KNOW routine to becoming a hoofer on Broadway. Bravo!!!
