'The Avengers' got me interested in the MCU, but this movie is what actually got me invested in these stories and made me respect Steve Rogers, Natalia Romanova, Nick Fury, and the Winter Soldier. After this, I was in. Every line in this movie has double meanings and is brought up at least three times throughout the movie. Very well written.

This movie is easily top 5 in MCU movies. Phenomenal writing, to Jerry's point - realistic action/fighting scenes that weren't inundated with unnecessary super-galactic CGI, and it also had really great character development. All around, I'm honestly very tempted to put this in my top 3 for MCU movies.

Fun Fact: In the elevator fight scene, where Cap is getting jumped.... One of the S.H.I.E.L.D agents that's attacking Cap, the black guy with the skin fade... his name is Gui DaSilva Gui DaSilva is the stunt actor who did ALL the fight scenes for Black Panther, whenever Black Panther did a fight in the full vibranium suit, it was Gui DaSilva in that suit

To take out whatever the target was that Hydra wanted eliminated. Bucky wasn’t weakened or nerfed later. He’s just not actually trying to hurt or kill anyone when he’s in control or can remember who he is. He is still highly skilled, and very capable of still being dangerous and deadly.

This movie is easily my favorite Marvel movie in the entire series. For one - it was really cool to see Steve having to learn to live in modern society and not 1942. Also, the dark, gritty, action shot film that included Bucky and all his destruction PERFECTLY contrasted with Cap’s character as this sort of ray of sunshine that we’ve always seen him be. It was so awesome to get to see not so goody two-shoes Cap for the first time.

The MCU did a much better job of making me interested in the Avengers than the comics. In the comics I can barely make it through an avengers story arc tbh. Conversely, I’ve read everything X-men dating back to the 60s while the Fox X-men movies made me completely detach from the characters because they clearly didn’t understand the source material. Long story short: The MCU has been elevating the source materials, FOX and DC have never managed to do that.

Comment spoilers: I believe Sharon always was the power broker but before she was working don the behalf of Fury then after s.h.i.e.l.d failed Fury placed Sharon in the CIA so he will still have contact with the government and similarly place Maria Hill it stark industries. Then after the blip and Nick Fury disappeared she became the true power broker because everyone knew Sharon was always considered the powerbrokers number two in the powerbrokers can get their hands on rare objects now we know that was because of the skrulls.
