Interesting your RTX 4060 model has x8 connector and not x16 but with only x8 actually in use

Interesting to note that CPU usage when using the 2060 was sometimes half that when using the 4060.

less frames means less cpu need to use
@NikhchansGaming Жыл бұрын
It's because the 2060 is slower than the 4060, so CPU doesn't need to exert as much to keep up with it.

Well yeah, lower framerate means less CPU usage lol.

Why is the pcie slot so small on the 4090?

It’s only x8 so they just made it a bit shorter, maybe to save money

2060 still a capable GPU in 2023...well I damn well hope so. 4 years old and if its incapable then why buy it in the first place? Would the 4060 still be capable in 4 years time? I sincerely hope either the games developers cater for older hardware or GPU manufacturers think about the longevity of their products. But I know this'll fall on deaf ears since $$££ speak the loudest.

RDR2 seems to be the ultimate stress test for any system configuration. It's very well optimized but also an incredibly demanding game if you want it to look at its best. I managed to squeeze 40-50 fps on my first PC which had a 1050 Ti and i5-7600k

That pcie x8 slot looks like it's bound to say much sooner than it would if it had the x16, I know it's lighter but force x distance

I got myself a 2060 back in 2019, it died on me a week ago so I got it for 5 years and 2 months. Got myself a 4060 and I'm satisfied with it. I'm mostly in on it for the new tech like the frame gen and dlss3. I could have gotten a much better deal for a 3070 / ti or maybe even squeezed a few hundred bucks for a 4070 but the power consumption of the 4060 saves me A TON of electricity down the line considering I'm planning on keeping my build for a few more years. I'm only sacrificing like 10-20 fps on triple a games, no deal breaker. I mostly play at 1080p anyways so it's all dandy. Maybe if I was playing at 1440p or even attempt to a 4k, then an entirely new build would have been more plausible.

Dlaa will be the next key feature of nvidia. I prefer using it than DLSS+RT with my 4070.

But 3060 can use full bus width, 16 lanes! It's only when you start chopping it down to 8 or 4 lanes then the per-lane throughput becomes noticeable at 8 and critical at 4.

Native is definitely best for benchmarks. DLSS/FSR is interesting as an aside but as it doesn't feature in a lot of games it's not something that can be relied on for purchasing decisions. I'd rather know what a card can handle and then have the extra benefit of enabling features when possible as an extra. If it has to rely on those extras then for me it's just not a good card.
