The conclusion was that the rasterization isn't as strong with Turing , I guess the RTX 2070 soldiers on with proper future driver support. I bought my rtx 2070 pre owned in 2019 for 332usd, my main reason for this card purchase was to play 1080p no ray trace and to pwn as many noobs as possible and it did just that, anyway fast forward to 2024 I went from a 9700k to 14700k using a 1440p monitor 170hz I can play 800 player rust 160 plus fps, low settings but all aa maxed, I like a clean sharp image regardless of graphics as that has never helped me frag noobs, I don’t use dlss because if I wanted to burn my eyes out of my head and giving gpu manufactures an excuse to make little improvements in there gpus and a terrible quality image that adds a disgusting eye burning blur I’d use dlss. If I wanted to turn my res to 1280 by 720 i may as well reinstall windows me and play rainbow 6 rogue spear and go back the msn zone and game spy arcade, in saying that i only play pvp games which I need want 100 plus fps and I get that at 1440p in games like squad, hell let loose, cs2, rust dark and darker and cod4, I get bored of single player games because there’s no challenge, so if your a single player gamer who likes over unrealistic shiny textures and vending machines that refracts light and images of your own character off a vending machine, then no this gpu is not for you and I guess luckily for me hogwarts legacy and cyberpunk was a giant snore. Pokemon heart gold goes pretty hard tho.

Back in early 2019 I did a Ryzen 1700 setup and was using a GTX 1080 in it. I had a friend using a FX 8350 with a dual RX 480 4gb combo for Crossfire (I was still using a FX 8350/RX 470 myself as a secondary pc). He was one of those friends that felt like he had to keep up with or surpass what I had for some reason. He got that itch and against my advice to wait, jumped on a Ryzen 2700 and a giant ass space heater RTX 2070 even though I told him prices would be dropping as new stuff was coming in mere months. It was a waste of money for him. All he was doing was playing The Division 1 and 2. He did not even need the upgrade. Then a couple months later they released the new Ryzen 3000 series, and a few months after that, the RTX 2070 Super. Then in March 2020, I did a upgrade to a Ryzen 3600 and MSI RTX 2070 Super Ventus (much smaller and cooler than the EVGA 2070 he got). Was basically my main gaming pc from March 2020 till March 2023 when I did a new build again. It was like a kick in the teeth for him and he stopped trying to keep up with me after that when I do new builds, so to this day he is still using that Ryzen 2700/RTX 2070 setup as his main pc. My Ryzen 3600/RTX 2070 Super is still a secondary gaming pc that I use on a 1080P curved gaming monitor. Still very good for that, but there are games from last year that really hurt that 8gb vram/16gb system ram, the first of which for me was Company of Heroes 3. That game needed more than 8gb of vram and more than 16gb system ram to run maxed out. That's really what I took as a sign that it was time to put that PC into the secondary slot and replace it on my 4k setup with a new build using the Ryzen 5800X with a RX 7900 XT and 32gb system ram.

There isn’t really any cheap ones from nvidias side tbh. And none make sense since they’re all also 8gb cards which are becoming obsolete nowadays with these unoptimized games lol. But on AMDs side the 6700xt or 6800 are both great options, offering 35% & 70% performance increases for good prices generally, both have a ton of vram to last a good while into the future as well. If you’re buying new the best option would be something like a 4070 super / 7800xt which is still a crap ton of money for a graphics card at the end of the day

I got msi armor version too about a week ago, how's the temp in yours btw? Mine at 0.85v 1860mhz memory clock all the way to +800mhz. Max at 71°c 160w while playing heavily gpu bound games, still need a lot of reference to find the sweet spot.

@@whynot2692 I dropped it a bit to lower the power consumption and i got it to 1905 at 0.925v. now it runs around 180w to 195w during timespy. My max temps are 67c (gpu fans are running at 1450rpm) and I was running Timespy stresstest combined with cpuz stresstest to simulate gpu+cpu load. I guess I have better airflow in the case (my room temp was 24,2c)
@whynot269210 ай бұрын
Dayyum that's good, how's your idle consumption? now the only thing that I concern is my gpu idle power consumption, idk why but it sucks 40w of power, idk what went wrong but i don't think it's the gpu, cuz I've been running 3 different gpu's including the 2070 and all gpu runs identical 30-40w at idle.
