Testing 52 Games on the Acer Swift X SFX14-41G with RTX 3050 (35W) and a Ryzen 5 5600U.
Important: The Laptop uses dynamic boost which is why the actual Wattage is 35-40W depending on how much the cpu is needed. If it's not needed that much, the CPU shares some of it's power draw to the GPU.

All tests were made with the laptops "Turbo" and Mode which makes the fans run at higher speeds and gives the GPU a small boost. (accessible via FN + F) The ambient temperature was 21° C. The laptop was plugged in.

Excellent job and this laptop is a pretty affordable powerhouse. Cant wait for the full review. Would of loved to see the 5800U model with RTX 3050ti tested, quick question so most games I see are limited by the 4GB of Vram but using medium settings makes games playable at 1080P ? How about high settings at 720P ? Would that be possible and if so do you get better frames with those settings?

Hey Hubwood looking at the temps and power consumption throughout the games, can u try to undervolt and overclock this laptop? like i think the temps are really really good as they are but if we undervolt the laptop and then overclock it a bit, we might be able to extract substantial performance from it

Undervolting does not work. The voltage seems to be tied directly to the tdp, so the performance drops. BUT overclocking via the direct core and ram controller for the Mhz does work indeed. (200 and 400 Mhz each) Could basically be seen as an undervolt cause the tdp and voltage stays the same

Nvidia doesn't call the low power cards maxq anymore. Unfortunately. So you'll have to find out the wattage yourself before you buy. That sucks.

Hi!, im revisiting this video once more, this time with a question about VR, did you had any problem during the oculus quest device software to connect the oculus using the link cable or you used the air link connection for your tests? does anybody have a audio lagg when using the internal speakers? On mine there is a slight delay of audio of a few milliseconds but it's very annoying. Any fix? Disabling the signal enhancement of realtek improves it a little bit but then the sounds is horrible.

Yes it's a low power 35w version. It's slower than regular 3050s. It's what Nvidia used to call max-q.

i have 3050ti gpu with R 7 5800u and i can't even launch mw1. and overwatch crashes after 10 to 20 min and it says "Your rendering device has run out of memory" and on the finals the gpu runs at 20 to 40% and other games it doesn't run at 90%. pls help

Generally i still couldn't found any replacement for this laptop; based on size/portability, expandable storage slot, screen quality and battery with pricing around $500 (2nd hand). Performance wise also spot on: 6C/12T cpu, rtx 3050 and lpddr4x ram. Would be perfect if this laptop could have 32GB ram, because i found that with external portable monitor it's possible to do some work whilst doing heavy gaming such as Transport Fever 2 (megalomaniac map + mods) and yet CPU still not maxed out. Only ram went at full capacity, i bet SSD also took the beating to handle windows' swap-file. RIP ssd.😅

The g65 is a low power variant but still MUCH faster than the acer swift x with its 3050. Were talking about 30-50% faster here depending on the game.

hi thanks for this great video. i bought this laptop 5800u rtx 3050ti version 15 days ago. I am satisfied with the performance, the only thing that worries me is the cpu temperature. I'm playing fifa 23, the first days the temperature was 65, maximum 75 degrees. and the last day it does not fall below 75. Between 75-85. that playing at these temperatures for a long time will not damage the hardware ? at first it was great at 65-75 degrees. I was a little worried because the temperatures rose later. I want to use it in good condition for at least two years. I would like to mention that I am using it connected to a 2k 27 inch monitor.
