thanks man, fantastic job as always. that 16gb vram of the rtx 3080 is really helping it out on 4K. ofc none of the current 30 series laptop gpus are capable of running new games at 4K with max settings and Ray tracing on, since even rtx 3080 ti and rtx 3090 can't do more than 60-70 fps in newer heavy titles.(take cyberpunk for example ).

Not everything is a gameplay. Please read what it says on the left side of the screen, below resolution and settings you have pointed of it is a gameplay or not. I've test both Legion 5 and Legion 5 Pro in few games with Rtx 3070 and there is literally no difference, in some games 1 FPS in others 5 FPS, in total it's less than 3% difference event at 1440p. I haven't finish the video and I won't as the laptop benchmarks are not having any interest at all, the amount of views is extremely low.

Please always read the description as the question was already answered. All 3 laptops got MUX switch so it means that they can get the exactly same FPS when using internal or external screen if you will disable the integrated graphics. And yes, it was plugged to an external display via a capture card to record the footage.

Adding more info, I think the 3060 and the 3070 both run at 100W on the HP OMEN. Every review I say of the graphics card it’s all about games and FPS, etc., and say the 3070 is better. But for the kind of work I’ll be doing, photo and 4K video editing mainly (not playing games and not 3D rendering), do you think the 3060 (6GB DDR6) is plenty enough for my needs or should I really have got the 3070 (8GB DDR6) instead? This is really consuming me wondering If I did a good choice…

3060 with 6 gb VRAM it's Very good position for usage only photoshop programming. More PREMIUM laptops has 3060 for second usage helping at photoshot work. SO u trully do great choice for ur working purpose. At least 6gb GPU i's good for 3D-render at the start usage. 8GB VRAM has one special purpose: it's get games and bigest 3d-render only.

Please read the description. I'm using much faster RAM than the stock RAM which can increase performance by up to 20 in CPU limited games. Warzone a year ago and now is a different game which is constantly getting updated and performance will always be different between different versions and is only valid at the time of doing the benchmarks.

Different laptop, with different cooler designed for RTX 3080. Legion 5 and Legion 5 Pro can be paired with up to RTX 3070 with TGP 130/140W, in Legion 7 you can get up to RTX 3080 with 165W TGP. Also the temps at 4k are always lower than at 1440p and 1080p because the CPU usage is much lower.

On high resolution, the GPU is doing all the processing. And 4K is very heavy process for GPU. It does not matter how fast your CPU is. Only how fast your GPU is will affect overall FPS performance.

No, they are not too cold you just don't understand how boost clocks for the Ryzen CPU works and how it's affecting the temperature. With higher CPU usage the CPU will downclock lowering the voltage as well and this will have huge impact on the temperature. The temps are mostly the highest in games which are using only few CPU cores and when the clock speeds are above 4GHz. On the hand Legion 7 got far better cooler than Legion 5/ Legion 5 Pro and will always result in lower temps.

Not at 4k resolution. The CPU usage at 4k will always be lower because the frame rate is much lower than at lower resolutions and it doesn't require more CPU power to render mode frames. Legion 7 as any other RTX 3000 laptop comes with 15W dynamic boost power which is allocated to GPU or CPU depending on what requires more power at given time. At 4K you will always have GPU maxed out with maximin power, leaving less power to the CPU because it's not needed. You can watch my previous videos at 1440p or 1080p where you can see than in Warzone the CPU clocks are always above 4GHz.
