Not a launch. RDR2 was waaay worse than this on PC at launch. At least this is a solid 60+ FPS in 1440p with vsync on.

@Billy Either it was patched or people are using RT on non ray tracing cards or something, idk. I'm not saying there is no issues for anyone but with my RTX 3080 I have vsyc on, AMD fidelity at quality, all settings to epic, ray tracing on. My fps has not dropped below 55 and averages between 55-70. With that being said, however... With this game costing $70 and not $60 I'd expect the best optimization I've ever seen in my life, plus DLSS.

As many have noted, changing graphics presets from Epic to anything else (including Low) does not increase fps in any way. More amazingly, using FSR upscaling (which should give a HUGE increase in fps in all circumstances) does literally nothing. A 4090 still has stuttering and fps drops below 60. One of the worst PC optimizations in recent memory.

@@mattbuergel8487 FSR does absolutely nothing on 1440p - and it absolutely should with a 3080. Same fps, lower gpu usage, useless. FSR does work on 4K resolution, which probably applies to 1% of the gaming audience (most are still on 1080p). Anyhow my comment was regarding optimization which was universally noted to be horrific on release - I think many if not all of these issues are fixed now via patches.

If anyone has the game on PC, think they could run it, then ctrl+alt+delete while the game is on and check on the CPU usage to see which cores it's utilizing? I've looked at a handful of these videos and every time you see super low CPU usage. I'm wondering if the game may actually be limited to running on tiny portion of the CPU, like two cores or something, due to some bug, 'cause if it's properly multi-threaded (at least 4-8 cores) it's only putting a couple percent load on each core.

Nice quick Video, but heard this area is the most stable in the Game. Coruscant was labeled the worst and the other very inconsistent. Did u have the time to play in the other areas. Bc if u got 30 fps in the stable area then RIP 😅 Will Launch it soon with my 3090 but with old 10900k cpu, but ordered a 4090 yesterday. CPU bottleneck i heard so Far, so Wisch me luck 😂

I'm running 3080 Ti 12 GB with 5800X3D on X470 and I'm getting 60fps sometimes hitting 70+ on Coruscant level at 4K with everything maxed out to Epic and Ray Tracing on, FSR off. It does dip pretty bad but never below 30.

Horizon FW is better looking game, more open world too and its stable 1800p-+ 60fps and jedi survivor on ps5 drops to 35 fps and 720p with performance mode :D thats just amazing. Top peek optimization.

Ok, i was getting mad at this game cause my RX6750XT was running at 65° temp core and sometimes 95° in juction temp. But as i can see even 3080 in 2k full set runs at 80° temp core. Jesus, what a bad game port.

the 80c is due to the default msi fan curve, i could use a custom fan curve and the GPU wont go higher than 70c under full load if you're not happy with your GPU temp try undervolting or using a custom fan curve to see if that helps

Someone else said this too but, RDR2 is a large open world, better looking, with physics and it runs wayyyy better than this.

AMD sponsored title. No DLSS3 in a game that's so crazy CPU bottlenecked, the Frame Generation would be a life saver for RTX40 users on PC. Incredibly underwhelming raytracing implementation missing out on the most obvious visual improvements - such as lightsaber reflections that would take some extra compute time but WOULD MOST LIKELY be worth it to some RTX30/40 Nvidia users (and possibly ruin AMD's "ray tracing" performance). It checks out with the other AMD sponsored games, very light RT or no RT at all, never too crazy so as to not push the RX GPUs too far.

so it's pretty clear that this game is not core optimized, it's limiting itself to only use about 4 cores of your CPU, which is why you're seeing RAM utilization at 13GB at 1080p. That's just absurd. This is an URE4 game, an engine that's been out for a long ass time. This folks should know better than this. So it looks like I'm not touching this game until someone develops a mod to fix, bc we all know EA isn't going to devote any time or resources into getting it fixed. And if you think I'm wrong, I'll direct you to Mass Effect Andromeda or Anthem.

i got a 9900k @ 5ghz 32gb 3600 cl 15 and the game is on a ssd. rtx 4080 and i play 4k. this game is very poor developed. i use amd fx resolution qualtiy and it looks better than without it. everythinh on epic besides AA is on mid, it looks the best. rtx is possible but its much more stutter...that sucks. i realy dont know if ots cpu bottlnecked...because the cpu uses only 50% at max. makes no sense to me. poor developed is the case in my opinion. the v ram is getting always full...15.5gb and than it drops down to 14.4gb. also poorly developed in my opinion

Devs get paid by gpu companies to unoptimize games to get you to upgrade and it makes you 2nd guess your gpu which you will start to have the itch to upgrade. Because once you get the 4080 if this game doesnt get fixed or another game drops like this you going to go down the rabbit hole and you going to think your 4080 is trash then on to the 5080 and so on. Its a never ending cycle and i use to upgrade like that for games like this as well back then Granted the 4080 isnt that much better imo and not worth the price hike from a 3080 but again its unoptimized games that make you think that and even the 4090 is having problems with this game so what does that tell you I have a 4070 Ti, No way ima let a unoptimized game push me to upgrade and when im ready to upgrade it has to be 70+ frames in every game just like when i had the GTX 1080 to 4070 Ti which that upgrade was fully worth it.
