The GPU utilization problem is solved by using DX12 instead of DX11. It's a well known issue on multiple tiltes. DX12 works better on most high-end system and always uses 99% of the GPU. On my part, I've been playing the game with DX12 and Digital Foundry's optimized settings on my 1080 Ti and after playing the game for a while, all the assets have been cached into a folder and now the game is 100% stutter free.

That's true. DX12 has much low level access as compared to DX11 (That was the major USP for it), it becomes easier to exploit the GPU with lesser computation required from the CPU's end. It's not just lower end GPUs, DX12 shines when it comes to low-end CPUs the most, once all the shader data is cached that is.

Second this, Im about 6 hours into the game using dx12 on a 3080ti, haven't seen any stutters and getting great performance at 1440 and 1080p, 1080p nets me a nice 160-180fps and 1440p around 120-140fps

just make the sharpness higher while using dlss quality, helps sooo much to get rid of the buttery picture. I did it with nvidia settings (sharpness) and it made it 100% better.

The reason to why dlss probably looked blurry to you was because the sharpness in the advanced video settings was set to 0. I found out myself when playing that putting the sharpness at anything lower than 50 will make the game really blurry when using dlss. As soon you set it to 50 and higher the game, atleast for me, will look like native resolution even when using either dlss quality, balanced or performance modes.

There is very annoying problem in this game. When you play over 1 hour, gpu usage drops nearby 50% and fps dropping very bad. There is very big difference when you first play everything RT maxed out with DLSS Quality ~100fps and suddenly it's keep dropping 50-70 fps. I have 5800x, Msi Suprim X 3080Ti and 32gb ram

The more I see the performance of a 3080 Ti at 4k, the more I think rasterization needed a whole lot more work before introducing ray tracing. There needs to be significant more detail in rasterization for ray tracing to appear life like.

90% GPU usage is because of DX11, same thing happened on my 1080 Ti. Haven't yet watched the entire video but I do hope you test DX12. From my experience the stutters weren't bothersome, but the 20% higher fps sure was. Ok I finished watching the vid and the stutters do look quite bad, maybe its because I personally was playing at 4K 60 with occasional dips to 50, so it wasnt incredibly noticeable.

Those core clocks on the 3080 Ti is surprisingly low. Usually ampere cards can maintain 1920 MHz or above.

@@zWORMzGaming Old comment, but this is not true. Since you are using the Founders Edition version these core clocks are pretty good. Conyo is confusing the FE with factory overclocked custom designs like an Asus rog strix OC or Surpim x just to name the two strongest variants. These cards often maintain consistent 1950-2000mhz under a 100% load. A Fe card plays somewhere in the 1700 to 1800mhz range. This also means that my card will edge out the FE with 5+ fps in basically any title you would directly compare. There is a sizable difference between a FE 3080ti and for example a Suprim X that performs better than a stock 3090. ;)

@@arnavjoshi7047 Nah its actually the opposite. CP2077 has a lot more to render in the background. Yes CP2077 can be optimised better but it's graphics look pretty impressive at times, especially during the night . This game on the other hand even with all the rt effects doesn't look impressive at all by 2022 standards. Way too colourful and cartoony in some scenes. Games with rasterised lighting like Rdr2 looks better than this 2022 game in a lot of scenes. Even Dying Light 1 had a more realistic look to it.

The game is good, but I honestly don't like the graphics. It's somewhat dull and they're covering it up with vegetation. That makes the game look like "Enslaved, Odyssey to the west 2".

3080 TI is overpriced however it performs very well and if you can find one for $1000 i would buy it. But i think i'd get a 3080 over a 3080 TI since its only 10% slower for $700

@@ok-70707 it’s the market we live in. Sadly 700 for a 3080 will never happen, why nivida release the 12gb not saving a msrp but board partners releasing for the lowest at 1200 hints EVGA. Point is that when 4000 series comes out expect to see 80 series class cards now in the 1000-1200 dollar range, and if you are extremely lucky you can hit on FE edition cards still.

@@szypki_zygi RT is the emporers new clothes... without RT, Dying Light and Cyberpunk will do 60fps at 1800p-2160p pretty easily IMO, but the RT being enabled halves it pretty much forcing DLSS activation or fsr activation. RT will keep getting added, keeping the 30fps-60fps targets in play, I wish defaulted to 60-120fps modes but I'm not the devs..

2080ti 1440p with balanced DLSS and max raytracing, is butter smooth 60fps, I can do 4k even but then it drops in the 40s with performance DLSS. so I just stick to 1440p Balanced

Just got a 3080 TI 12 gb and my settings are 16:13 and I'm getting 20~40 FPS. But I'm thinking my CPU is probably the culprit, even though when DL2 is running it usually takes up less then 50% cpu utilization. It's a i7-6700k. Don't think its my 3k 16gb ram or my 980 SSD. Also I had one PCIe cable plugged in instead of 2

Hey, great video but idk is it only for me but you should restart game after changing dlss, because when i switch from like quality dlss to balanced (or turn it off completely) and then like turn back on quality it gets even worse experience than balanced dlss but when i restart the game all gets back to normal. (idk about changing resolution tbh)

3:36 - Unsure why you say cpu bound when your 5900x is 20-45% utilization. Also, as a viewer, there was a DRAMATIC difference in graphics / visual quality once you enabled Ray Tracing. Such a good card and a lot of times the bells and whistles are turned off! I think there’s a lot more going on in this game compared to Warzone. I have an EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra and I have everything all possible settings for graphics fidelity maxed, with ray tracing on and I can get 120fps no problem at 1440p native. Really crazy to see a 3080 Ti struggle to do 1440p native, maxed settings with ray tracing. Unsure how the 3090 Ti is for “8K Gaming”

i mean even the 1080 ti can play older games at 8k. just depends on how old. 3090 can play many games at 8k30, some at 8k60, and older titles at 8k120 however there is no way to output that to a monitor since DisplayPort and HDMI are at least an entire generation behind gpu power at this point, sadly.
