It's October 2024 and rumors about the RT&X 5090's release are already widespread and simultaneous, so this graphics card must be about to come out. So what's the bad news? It's just that the RTX 5090 should only be about 50 to 70% faster in rasterization than the RXT 4090. I dont think max raytrace( especially with the new ultra raytrace mode set to be realsed) well ever break a stable 40fps on in card. It a hard limit were gonna reach with data transfer speeds raytracing some insane teck the use huge chunks of data.

Having slent over £2k in Covid for my 3090 it hurts to see frames pulling through as though its just a mid tier card. I went from a Vegas 56 at 1440p to 3090 at 4k and get similar frames, just a slightly better resolution!??

Amazing card but terrible price especially for the AIBs which are like $400 more than an FE model. Seems like a good card for future proofing though, so if you’ve been saving up since 10 or 20 series, this doesn’t seem like a bad card to buy that could potentially last you 5 years like the 1080 Ti

The 3090ti was released at $2k. This at $1600 is way better. Expensive, yes. Theres no reason to buy the more expensive models. The FE and base models perform the same. Nvidia is the apple of gpus now. Theyre not letting AIB's do anything to the gpus.

You can get the 3090 to run all the way at 2200 MHz and you can get the asus rog strix 4090 to run at 3200 MHz. Trust me temperatures will be totally fine under °70 celsius.

This video is a great essay on why the 3090 is plenty more than adequate and how the 4090 is overkill, especially at the current scalper prices. 3090 is over 60 fps in 4k, but I don't even game at 4k, so I literally can't tell the difference at the resolutions I play.

If you want 4K at a high refresh rate then the 4090 is what you need. For 1440p with 60Hz even a 2080Ti or a 3070 is good enough.

According to the latest STEAM hardware survey, about 2-3% of gamers use 4K as a primary display...By the time a noticeable amount of gamers use 8k, this 4090 will seem slow. I'm also inclined to think 8k will never catch on because for a screen a couple of feet away from you, it's not noticeable over 4k so there's not much reason to play games like that.

Not sure what you are on about but the 3080 gives sub 35 fps at 4k ultra (rt off/dlss off) and 10-15 fps 4k psycho rt dlss off where the 4090 is getting 75+ fps and around 35 fps respectively. 4090 literally gives more than double the fps of the 3080. 4090 trashes 3080/3080ti/3090/3090 ti. You are running at 1440p or using aggressive dlss.
