HIDDEN DRUMMERS of INDIA: Part 1 -Documentary about MUSIC in INDIA, CARNATIC RHYTHM and the KANJIRA

HIDDEN DRUMMERS of INDIA is a three part documentary series on KZbin that explores the world of Carnatic music, and in particular India’s most awesome drum, the Kanjira!
During the summers of 2018 and 2019 I spent several weeks traveling through the southern states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu where I met with the most incredible players and immersed myself in the Carnatic tradition.
In part one of Hidden Drummers of India, I’m in Bengaluru where I was based for a large portion of my first trip in 2018 and features the following incredible musicians in order of appearance:

UTTER NONSENSE. Sanskrit was invented only 150 ad plagiarized tamil. All the mythodology rewritten to defeat bhuddism. Bharath is only name . Its related sea. Carnatic music is waaaayyy newer than Vedas. The founder of Carnatic music is Purandara Dasa - born in 600 years ago. Vedas are clearly older than 2000 years.

people forget that Hindusthani music came or trace it origins from Hubli-Dharwad region of karnataka state.later it was taken into different gharanas of north india example-gwalior,jodhpur etc and each gharanas came up with minor variotions

Yes Purandara dasaru thought his student from multan which is in today’s pakistan called swami haridas who is the founder of Hindustani music but Wikipedia n google had named some muslim now they tell tansen is the founder of Hindustan music but Swami Haridas was the guru of tansen according to the same google n Wikipedia. Enjoyed the series! Thank you for covering such an interesting topic! Would like to add that most south indians do partake in Carnatic music trainings when they are young(grade 1-grade3) but fail to continue to appreciate this form as they grow older. Again this is attributed to this notion of Carnatic music being for a smaller segment of group within India itself. I would definitely be checking out the Kanjira Quartet after this!
