This is the 30th day updates or part 2 of variegated rubber plants propagation in water and soil done last August 25, 2020.
We will notice in this video the difference of propagating plants under grow light (artificial light) and near the sunny window. And also the speed of rooting process in soil versus water.

If you propagated them around the beginning of spring you would have gotten faster roots. You still kept them alive though. How’s the mother plant doing?

Hi, yes you are right. I just grown them with the use of grow light indoor and seems doing well. The mother plant have 3 new growth and getting well so far.

Hello! Based from your experiment on various soil mixes, where you able to find out which is best for ficus elastica? Thanks so much for all your videos...

So far I did not see any big difference in all of my soil mix that is used in my plants. But I would suggest using a well-draining soil, like adding perlite to your normal potting soil. I’m planning to make an experiment with different types of soil mix in the next couple of months.

Yes it will still grow but I would be better if you leave at least one leaf.

Hi i tried propagate stem cutting,nag ka buds at leaves n pero konti palang sila.pwede naba alisin clear plastic cover khit dita 1month?tnx

You can water them too, but when the soil inside is almost dry only. If you feel that the soil still wet do not open and water.

If lagyan po ng rooting hormones ung sa water propagation. Mas mabilis po kya magroot at magkasibol. Magtatatry po kasi ako ng matured Cuttings. Ung kahoy po.

It can root well the leaf, but it will just stay leaf and will not grow as a new plant. You should use the stem too.

Is it important to use transparent plastic to cover the plants? All of my cuttings died 😭 i bought cuttings from fb then i tried to propagate those cuttings. Weird thing, on the video it seems easy to cut the stem of the plant. However, in my case, the one that i bought, i needed a big cleaver just to cut it. 😂😂😂

Covering your plants with transparent plastic will speed up the rooting process of your propagation. How do you propagate your cuttings?

@@thegreenearth same as yours. I tried both water and soil. Although i did use plastic covers that are not transparent and away from the sun. Maybe thats why mine died?

@@paulrivera3466 yes that is the reason and also you did not use the transparent plastic. You should keep your propagation in a bright place near the window but indirect to the sun.
