Rubberneckers (Modular Synth Performance)

This one started out as an experiment with WMD Devices' Sequential Switch Matrix. It's buried under way too many cables but you can hear it on the mr. magoo synth solo in the middle section. Another new arrival, Erica Synths' Black Polivoks Filter, is doing its thing on the bass in the builds. As usual maestro Trigger Riot conducting.

I estimate that this whole setup uses less power than a standard incandescent light bulb. The power consumption of modular surprised me when I was building mine, i thought it would be much much higher.

Alot of modular users ive seen tend to never get past the " wall of noises" phase and into the actual composition of music that follows at least some of the basic rules,and is listenable to people who arent modular nerds. This piece shows that it can definitely be done to great effect. well done!

Isn’t he just playing back his pre-recorded sequences though? I never saw him touch any control other than what I guess are sequence selection buttons? Still very tasty sounding-I’m not knocking the music. EDM DJ stuff. I’ve seen other performers actually cooking the sound up live, adjusting oscillators, filters, envelope generators, patching and re-patching with the cables, playing keyboards... None of that here. A good studio product, but kind of boring as a live performance IMHO.
