Rubbertoe Replicas - 9th and 10th Doctor Wide Slider Aztec Sonic Screwdriver Review

Taking a look at the 9TH & 10TH DOCTOR'S (WIDE SLIDER) SONIC SCREWDRIVER by Rubbertoe Replicas, sometimes referred to as the wide slider aztec sonic screwdriver.
This high end replica is an near perfect recreation of the iconic sonic screwdriver prop used by Christopher Eccleston and later David Tennant in season 1 and 2 of New Who respectively.
This version of the sonic screwdriver has the wide slider for the extending emitter with the activation switch embedded in the slider itself just as seen in the show.

Designed to compliment the ninth and tenth doctors' Tardis interior this really is a beautiful sonic screwdriver design and for many it is a fan favourite.
For a bit of fun we'll take a look at this next to the original Character Options toy to see just how different it is.

Another great review, I LOVE this prop!! You’re definitely having fun making these vids and they are hella funny with great use of other ‘related’ video snippets! However, OMG, you dropped the sonic…….noooo….🙃Also, sacrilege, again, throwing the card and care instructions away!! I clutched my pearls!! I know there are plenty of sonic reviews out there so I figure if I can have fun making the review and add a twist then why not....though I couldn't believe that I dropped literally every element of the product from the case to the screwdriver. Won't be the last time with my hand-eye coordination lol Got a few more lined up but one I'm really looking forward to doing is a comparison between the genuine Character Options 14th online exclusive vs the ali express version

The lock was never an intentional part of the sonic. Understandable wanting it but as far as the prop went if they wanted it to stay in one position they glued it like the grey Aztec

Love this! Would grab one if it wasn't £650. Future plan is to definitely collect all available replica Sonic Screwdrivers. Starting with the character options first though, although 9th and 10th Doctors sonic seem to be really difficult to get hold of at the moment. Great video!

Thanks so much I'm so glad you enjoyed it. There are a lot of what look to be bootleg 10th sonics which I'm trying to grab to see how good/bad they are which might help. With this, there is an option to pay in instalments with rubbertoe which can make the hit a bit more manageable too

You can display the sonic in extended mode if you tighten the bottom grub screw after you've extended it. This should hold it in position!

Yeah I figured that out by dumb luck because when it arrived that bottom grub was sticking out loads so I tightened it. It’s a perfectly faithful design to this prop so I have no complaints and I’m glad there’s a workaround 😊

Lol I love those titles! I completely lost my train of thought a few times through this. Thanks so much I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I know what you mean - the high end stuff is eye watering. I kinda figured there's not that much difference between this cost and one of the wand company ones and this one is a bit more premium so why not. i think with rubbertoe you can pay in instalments for some of them which also makes it a bit less of a hit

@@order66collectibles 😅😂 Very true though! I was lucky enough to purchase the the wand company 10th Doctor's Sonic in 2013 (Unfortunately my battery died...) and cost around £63 I believe? Yeah in the future, I will definitely get my hands on a Sonic and just pay it in half. Hopefully soon, but eh...

You're definitely a lot braver than me as Yeah I do like throwing around my Toy sonic screwdrivers like how the actors do in the show but I wouldn't do it to a prop replica in fears of breaking it

They’ve still got around half of this run left at the minute and they’ve got the 10th doctor’s season 4 sonic on pre-order (the narrow slider with lock in place function for the emitter) scheduled for release later this year so I think you should be ok. There is a pay in 3 option through PayPal too which is very nice to spread the weight of it
