Because there isnt a system that suits those players. Hojlund is a traditional number 9, he needs an AM and crossing wingers. If you play Rashford and Garnacho, two Inside Forwards, you need someone to create space. Hojlund was starved for service when he played with those two, as they look to cut in and score themselves. Hes far better suited to playing with Amad

One the best things Amorim has is that he has 20 starting players, not just a starting 11. He makes his teams in away that he changes 2/3 players, who ever they are, but it seems you are always playing with a starting eleven. This is very important because of injuries, red cards, the season is long and intense. And the players are totally motivated. Sporting has had many injured players this season, and the team keeps winning easy.

I am Portuguese and I can say that Rúben's main qualities are communication, trust and confidence in the players and always protecting them. He likes the team to be together and he gets rid of whoever is not with the team if he wants the 23 players to always have the same attitude, commitment and together.

If there are too many injuries he will work with the youth department and give some opportunities to young prospects. He prefers to take his chances this way and have everyone engaged everyday. [2] He'll try to make a family out of the locker room, with the older players on the club mentoring the new, good vibes, happy work place. But that doesn't mean trying to be the BFF of everyone, he will be just as demanding and committed to wining. [3] He will bring all the new technologies to have all the data on every player. What they do in the training dictates what he'll do on the matchday. He trusts the process and not the quick win. The physio prep will be very demanding. So expect a familiar environment but also a very professional outlook and the winning ambition. [4] The odd variable here is that he has not coached superstars, so that's a new experience for him for sure. That said if the board that hired him supports his decision making, the superstars will have to commit to the hard work as everyone. I expect him to have the locker room in no time. If that happens Amorim will thrive in the the premier league.

I like the breakdown joe and i think this manager is great he was one of my initial favorites alongside nagelsman. I never thought we would get zidane. My biggest concern is we have too many players who’s skillset do not fit a high possession style. I do not think we have enough centerbacks , right and leftbacks and our wingers other than Amad are awful at retaining possession. Amorims style looks like it takes very high IQ players and idk how many can understand and do this style. Overall Amorims success will largely come down to his ability to get players in who can fit his system and get out ones that can’t and I think NO PLAYERS SHOULD BE SAFE but what we have seen over the past 10 years says otherwise. Overall im very excited for Amorim but am worried he will be forced to keep players who simply can’t do what he wants to do.
