Far to the east ruled the Samurai, mystic warrior class,
Honorable brave, bark armoured man, donning hideous mask.
700 years of reigning Japan, the masters of attack,
Dominators of the isle of dragons, fearsom military caste.
In battle no prisoners for the enemy, noble self-sacrifice,
Crooked crowns sentenced to die, pay the bloody price.
Sacred rites held close by the fighters, no place for disgrace,
Taught to stand with dignity while staring in death's face.
Honor even in death, soldiers glorified,
The dagger plunges deep, slashes side to side.
Honor even in death, digrace is defied,
The end they never fear, give their life before their pride.
Honor even in death, soldiers glorified,
The dagger plunges deep, slashes side to side.
Honor even in death, digrace is defied,
The end they never fear, give their life before their pride.
Gracefully, with steady hand,
He takes the dagger that lays before him.
Collects his thoughts for the last time,
And plunges the dirge from left to right.
No sign of pain on his face,
With the final cut withdraws the blade.
Loyal companion by his side,
Lifts the sword to help him die.
Lightning flash, one swift blow,
Honor is done, warriors head rolls.
In a mans glory, his spirit is stored, his very being inside,
Dignity respected, courage is shown by his ritual suicide.
No room for dishonor in hari kari's dagger gashing side to side,
Under the rising sun the core is exposed, to reveal a new life.
Honor even in death, soldiers glorified,
The dagger plunges deep, slashes side to side.
Honor even in death, digrace is defied,
The end they never fear, give their life before their pride.
Honor even in death, soldiers glorified,
The dagger plunges deep, slashes side to side.
Honor even in death, digrace is defied,
The end they never fear, give their life before their pride.

Flotsam And Jetsam is killer all the way! Love that band! Testament Malpractice.

If you think that is good, you need to check out their first album, Doomsday For The Deceiver. Jason was still a member when they recorded that album, and was the main lyrics writer on that album. The production is a bit better that album, and the album got a remix for it's 20th Anniversary reissue which modernized the production a bit more. My recommendation is to go and buy the 20th anniversary special edition if their are copies still available. It contains both original mix and remix of the album, as well as two Demo recording that got the band signed to Metal Blade Records. This album is a must own album for any fan of Metal, and is my favorite Flotsam And Jetsam album.

What a great reaction to a great band. I actually went to school with these guys in Scottsdale Arizona. Even Jason Newstead, was local and in the neighborhood before he got plucked into Metallica! Fun times…

The best album they put out was Doomsday for the Deceiver. Jason Newsted wrote almost all of the songs on it and showed off the bass chops that got him the Metallica job. It was a waste when he went to Metallica and they would not let him write anything except a few small parts on later albums. After about thirty years I still listen to it regularly.

So glad you enjoyed it Ruben. I really hoped you would. The whole album is a masterpiece. They are contemporaries of Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and many others. Best tracks by album are Hammerhead, No Place For Disgrace, I Live You Die, Hard on You, The Master Sleeps, Suffer the Masses, Natural Enemies, Wading Through the Darkness, Pick a Window, Smoked Out, and so many others. Take a deep dive, my friend. You can't go wrong with any of these.

I dedicated this song to the Auburn Tiger because they were cheated by the referees and awarded the Virginia Cavaliers the win in the semi-final March Madness game. Auburn Tiger should have the ball back but the disgraceful referees gave the Virginia player three points chances on the free throw and hit all of three of them. Nevertheless, the game was ruined because of the disgraceful call. Perfect song for the Auburn teammates, coaches and fan to listen to so they can express their outrage anger and protest to the referees for a horrible calls.

@@rokkkrinn2793 yes you're right. The music on that album is awesome, but I am a bit confused about the vocalist. On that album he sounds totally different then the song I just heard. I liked the sound of his voice on this one. At that album his voice sounds a bit silly imo.
