Billy, if I hadn't met you the other day my jaw would've hit the floor when you said you were going to college in Springfield and I recognized the dorm room in the video! Still can't believe I never ran into you after an entire semester. By the way, you may be interested to know that the Fangshi brand has a 2x2 with inset tiles instead of stickers, called the ShiShuang. It's supposedly as good as or even better than the Dayan.

Here's my review of the rubiks cube 2.0. (Normal one, not the speed one) Out of the box, this cube is pretty bad compared to today's speed cubes. There's nothing you can do to make this better than any moyu 3x3 on the market. Unless you get really lucky, the tensions suck too. Also, since it isn't the speed version, it's very likely you won't change the tensions easily. However, if you do things right, your rubiks cube 2.0 can be a decent cube. The main issue is the poor corner cutting, and that won't be fixed by what I'm about to say. If you don't like the really scratchy and loud feel of the cube, then do what I did: Disassemble Wash Put back together, except for last 2 corners and last edge. Lube the core, anything works (Even ****ing shampoo will work) Place final pieces in Grab your lube/soap/whatever and get Lube on all the edges Wipe off any Lube you got on the outside (tile side) Do a solve to get the Lube on all the pieces and parts And there you go! From a scratchy and loud mess you have a cube that feels like it's made from butter! (in comparison to it out of the box)

Hey guys, if you only care about tensioning, some models of the rubik's cube 2.0 actually have screws under the caps, use a pry (or dull knife) to pull up the caps, and have a look under. Then just use a file from a pocket knife or something to make little notches like on the speedcube model. Hope this helps :)

you can remove the tiles in the regular cubes if you take apart the cube you can see little notches in the center pieces connected to the core

Hey Billy,The reason your "Non-Adjustable" one doesn't turn well is because that's not the "Rubik's Speecube." The "Non-Adjustable" is the "New-Rubik's 3X3" you can get it off their website also. It cost more than the original Stickerd one but not as well as the "Speedcube" I have all 3.

I use one of these Speed Cubes in a magic routine I like to perform, atm the first video on my profile is a part of the routine I do, I use it as a magic effect, not trying to make it seem like I'm a speed cuber, but I'm thinking about getting one of those Dayan Cubes you talk about in this video, which one would you say is a good one to go for that looks like a regular Rubik's Cube? I've found a few of them on the dayan cube website, but I'd like to stick with the speed cubes as they make doing the moves so much easier.

I'm not entirely sure that the rubik's speed cube will end up in stores, well at least the big superstores like walmart, or target. However the cubes will appear in some small shops that sell puzzles and games. Just to clarify. :-)

on the old overseas cube you can disassemble it and underneath the center pieces you can find the little plastic prongs that you can push to get the plastic out, but they are very small, and it's very hard to get them out. Great video though!

on your other old cube you said you were sad to see you could not remove the tile without damaging it. You can simply pop out the block and then push your finger in the inside and it will pop out.

Out of the box my rubiks speed cube ordered from the same place as yours came with no additional springs, no stand, and the corners of the cube feeling like they are about to fall out. Is this how it is meant to feel and am I so pose to get a stand and extra springs?

to remove the edge pieces you have to pull the corners to the side the tiled versions have little notches on the side to avoid popping. It is the exact same pics as the pensionable core cube

So I got a regular Rubiks brand cube in the general store, and it was pretty loose out of the packaging. Little weird to get used to, so on the drive home I was just scrambling it to break it in, and it's a bit better now. It turns very clunky, but it might be that I need to lube it a bit. Still trying to solve it.

Most likely, those dollar store cubes are bad....... Rubik's would be the next step up..... I have heard that the Sheng-Shou Wind is good for beginners though...

If you want a cool cube, get a stickerless zhanchi. Looks very good. If you want to compete, this speedcube is sufficient or a Shengshou Aurora. Just search a little bit.

I would recomend the cyclone boys, its stickerless and it has a clunky feel but ir turns very smoothly, corner cutting and reverse corner cutting are good and it is faily cheap for begginers :D

+Andriod Khan Dayan might be a bit too fast for you, so go for a Rubik's speed cube or a Shengshou.

BionicSyndrome He had to use a lot of force to get the edges and corners out. the next part was just lubing it.
