GrizzLee Stories From The North: Ep4 -Good Weather, Good Roads, Good Friends, Good Times
In this episode, I finally make my way into the Yukon. I experience some of the best weather yet, see some incredible wildlife and make some new friends. It doesn’t last. As I make my way north the following days the weather deteriorates and my hopes for riding to the north end of the Canol road are in jeopardy. To add to the drama, rain and snow are encountered at the North West Territories border. I ride through a magical land that was only made accessible due to war efforts to bring oil to the Alaska Highway. The Canol road is failed attempt to do so. Along the way I ride past history, passing by World War II vintage dump trucks, road graders and other equipment strewn across the wilderness. Late into the evening, desperation sets as I am at my range limit for fuel, there is signs of bear all over the place… I needed a place to bunk down for the night. I managed to find a plywood shack in the wilderness to get out of the elements, but it came at a cost…

Thanks for posting. Did part of the North Canol last year but we had to turn around, we had limited time and it was getting late. We were wondering how far we could make it. Now we know and we have to go back. One day, I hope this road will take you all the way back to civilization on the NWT side, that would be a nice trip. But we had enough time to make it to Tuk on June 15. 2018.

THe North Canol on a sunny day would be AWESOME! I will be going back. I tried to ride to Tuk last year, but they closed the road when I got into Dawson. I heard it was bad. Maybe next year I try again. Amazing country up there. ~GrizzLee

Wow, just Wow! Another great video of an Epic Solo Adventure! I do lots of solo rides, usually just 4 to 5 hrs cause my 2 Girls (dogs) are in the toy hauler. Riding in Canada is on my bucket list. Ride On GrizzLee!

@@RubiKonAdventures I built a trailer for the Girls and pull it with my 06 Harley, Road King. We pulled over 30,000 mi in last 2 yrs. Now have a 2010 Street Glide for pulling the trailer. Hoggin n Doggin! We're doing the RFTW (Run For The Wall, to DC) May 15.. This will be our 3rd yr in a row...
