Honesty what made me fall in love with them wasn't just the chemistry or the bowling scene - it was the scene with Ruby's dad. We finally got to see past her facet and see how she really felt about Otis. Ruby's dad talking about how he finally got to see the famous Otis, and how he was really happy Ruby has been happy ever since they started dating. Honestly this feels like Ruby had always been interested in Otis, but her defensive mechanism has always been pushing Otis away. I wished they had explored his part of their relationship instead of ending it soo soon. Like if you really think about it, this relationship mostly had a lot of chemistry but for the most part had a lot of element of toxicity. But with each passing episode, we saw the potential. She stopped caring what other people thought, she stopped trying to change Otis and she fully started accepting Otis. Episode 3 was soo hurtful for me, considering all the build up and ending on such a sad note. Like I get it, from Otis POV, I too would not have said I love you then. Cause he never got to see the real her till then -- She was always rude to his family and friends. Like the fact that he didn't address it properly and pretended like it didn't happen was probably what hurt her the most. But considering they are portraying high schoolers, I get it they didn't have the maturity to handle such things better. From a writer standpoint, seeing how people loved Ruby and Otis in season 2, they probably wanted to test the reaction in this season. But I don't think even the writers would have anticipated the reception of this relationship. Maybe the writers may have shoehorn themselves not giving the Maeve and Otis relationship earlier. Like it almost starting to feel like Otis and Maeve is a plot device for Ruby and Otis, where when he finally accepts that he rather keep Maeve as a friend and pillar of support. I feel like people may be underplaying Otis and Ruby's chemistry. Maybe they can flesh out Ruby and Otis better next season considering everyone seems want more of them. I feel like there is more potential with taking the Ruby route then with Maeve. Like you if go down Maeve route, you probably will only have interactions just involving both of them. But if you go via the Ruby route, you can explore more of Ruby's issue with pregnancy/commitment which has be constantly being brought up. Or their interaction/relationship with each other friends and family (Kind of what happened in season 3, episode 3). I cannot see that happening with Otis and Maeve (Doesn't sound like fun). What made Ruby and Otis work was that it was an expected surprised that seems to work. Maeve and Otis being the end game would be still be good, but I just don't feel the spark anymore especially after experiencing Otis and Ruby. Like Ruby and Otis just feels different, compared all the different combinations they have tried.

Im not sure how realistic was their breakup, never been in this kind of situation (I learned from TV not to say too early, thanks Ted) but I think She not understanding that Otis needs more time to say it back and then instantly breaking up is too cheap and too easy excuse for the writers to move on to project Maeve. Also, then she completly gets removed from the rest of the series, like what? Are the really wasnt expecting us to start hoping for them or what. We have been following Jackson for 2 years even tho he is not even connected to any main character since the breakup with Maeve. And then we lose Ruby in just like 20minutes (in case if you watched them in one sitting, like normal people). I hope we will have a final season, imo since this is their last year in school we max get 1 more season. I wouldnt even mind of Maeve wouldnt sign the contract for one more, atleat Ruby gets back in the spotlight.

good video with emotional background music :') Let me get this out there,,, Im all for rotis to happen, most definitely, whether or not ruby turns out to be pregnant or not and Otis just wakes up and realises Maeve is the past. This is not discounting Maeve at all, but at this point of the show, if they still promote the 'will they won't they', its kinda getting boring and expected, so even when they kissed it didnt feel anything for me since we were given a taste of ruby and Otis. I think ruby was a good choice, not much is known about her except for her bullish selfish demeanour in s1-2 (until the party), but why we fell in love with her character is because it was soo unexpected. Yes, maybe she showed emotional vulnerability saying I love you too quick with Otis, but on the other hand, Maeve hasn't even said anything of the sort in 3 seasons! I get Otis pov, and honestly, s4 is gonna be tricky for the writers since they can't just make Otis do a 180 turn back to ruby after he's kissed Maeve like that and Maeve showing her feelings back, only way is to let Maeve stay in America and Otis interacts with ruby through events like coincidental meetings, hangouts, parties, etc. and thats assuming that ruby still shows feelings (like she does for him) next season which could potentially change since theres a few months gap between each season. overall, I was angry and upset when ruby was played like that because it looked as if she was put there to fill the first 3 episodes and keep Otis 'busy' while Maeve and Isaac were busy playing with each other and telling the truth, etc. if given more time, Otis would've formed stronger feelings for ruby. yes ik its been more than a week since series came out and im still ranting, but the way ruby was treated and left out in last 3 episodes was completely bollocks imo. now that s4 is confirmed, my wish is for ruby and Otis to become official again but setting the bar low, even if they're friends and we get to know more about ruby, its fine too. unless a new male character comes in, I don't see anyone else (or ruby has interacted with anyone else) that ruby can date or pursue, but only Otis. I think Emma is not leaving the show so it gets tricky. I want Ruby and Otis together. but the writers need to figure out a realistic way for Otis and Maeve to realize that they work best as friends. On the other hand Ruby got beaten badly by the writers. They need to give her fulfilling story line. The character could carry a whole season by herself so they need to raise the bar a lot.it is just mind blowing how she owns the screen every time she shows up. With the typical 8 episode run it’s going to be tricky to make all the pieces fit in a satisfying way.

I feel so bad for Ruby. The whole Confident Diva act has just been that--an act. She has always been so guarded and seemingly aloof. Is it any wonder she's never invited anyone to her house Or to meet her dad? And now, she finally lets Otis in and she genuinely falls in love with him. To think, this nerd that she always pretended was beneath her is the one to inadvertently break her heart. 😪 But one thing she has learned is to open up a bit and reveal her true feelings at least to her friends (or her followers.) I think Maeve(amazing actress) is a great as individual caracter but the relationship with otis bored and too predictable. On the other way Ruby and Otis is natural there's something about them you want to see more and i can not explain why. The chemistry between them is insane. Is a shame the Ruby's carácter is not enough developed yet. May be not in season 4 because of the writers but this Two deserves its own show or movie. They are magnificent Young actors.
