I think James is on to something with adjusting the converter. You've got the tuning about as tuned as it can be, and you might squeak out a 7.9x in that weather with tuning adjustments, but you're at the point of making mechanical changes to get a solid consistent 7.

Kevin is a beast, its humid as hell here in Florida thats a 7 second car in non 100% humidity air, in sweating just walking down the driveway checking the mail.

@Darryl Cashman Gee.......ya think? That car would've DEFINITELY ran at least TWO 7 sec passes back to back had it not been for this hot humid weather. Do you even realize just how difficult it is to accomplish this in such dank hot atmosphere? I live here in Florida, and I can tell you this time of year is the worst for trying to make anything go fast. Yet the car still ran a 1.2 and a 1.19 sixty foot and TWICE ran a 5.1 in the 1/8th mile. That's as fast as the best pass ever driving Leroy. THAT IS A CONSISTENT 7 SECOND CAR ( Ruby ) in the standing 1/4 mile. But this weather simply wouldn't allow it. Like the viewer ( Bat Man ) you responded to said: "I'm sweating just walking down the driveway to check the mail". Had the temps been around 70 degrees with lower humidity, you can bet the farm these boys would've possibly broke Leroy's record .....and went home early doing it.

Back then a 13 second car was FAST on the streets, and 12 flat would shut down anything in town. It wasn't that long ago. Boost, nitrous, ECUs, and better parts that can keep it all together. We knew how to make more power back then, but the motors would blow up. Stock blocks making 2500 hp! That's insane. When does an LS split in half? Real question.

@@relate97 Not really not in 2020. In 2020 every new Mustang GT is a 1970 LS6 Chevelle. Every single one of them. There weren't very many LS6 Chevelles running around, and there were no Vipers, GTs, 800 hp Challengers Mustangs and Camaros. All those cars will break off 12s all day with a noob driver if he doesn't wreck. It's a new world where we are approaching 45% efficiency from a gas motor that can be sold profitably. In the 8 second Pro Stock days a new Vette had about 180 hp. The Trans Am was faster and it was a slug.

Kevin also knows where in the tune there is still place for improvement. That's why he's not concern about the rest. I'm sure Kevin wants a 7.9 not more. Get the time to think about the tune, then retry later for something up to 7.6 if the parts are able to achieve that.
