I I've lived my whole life in California ...and ever since I got on KZbin I've been seeing videos about the Appalachian Mountains and I have been wanting to move there , so I'm watching everything about the Appalachians, the people, the stories and the history... everything about it ...I really like this story a lot❤... I now live at 4, 500 feet, off the Grid....in the forest of Nevada County, California, and I know that I could live in the Appalachian Mountains , I really like the log cabins and the lifestyle, growing your own garden, living with nature the simple life❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Beautiful story. If it was true some Christians would be negative to her. I lost my premature son and my fouth child died in me. I opened my storm door to enter my house door and a baby gray bird feather went soaring in-between the doors. It was Down's Syndrome Day. I accept the feather gift from my 4th child. He had Down's.

This story pulled at my heart. I loved a man much like she did. We got married and I tried to have children with him but after losing two children from miscarriage by him, he left me. I went into a deep depression for a long time but over time I realized life had to go on. I still think about my babies and wonder if I'll see them someday. This story helps me to know I will, even though I can't understand why they can't be here. Thank you for sharing this.

I was blessed to be a mom for 20 years. Because of my son I was blessed to take in 5 of his friends who needed a momma for a time when they needed. Those boys are men now and I am still called momma. I will see my son again but he left room in my heart for my other sons. They look like me, we have the same heart. Keep sharing the good word dear Kin and know we will all be together again.

This story touched me. My momma lost her firstborn at 7 months and the baby was so deformed they couldn’t tell the gender. She always talked about the day she got to heaven she would rock her baby and yearned so much for that day, which came 10/13/2017, sad day for me, but a rejoicing day for momma. One day I’ll meet my sibling in heaven. I love to read and my favorite books is Appalachia history. My grandparents grew up in the depression very poor in the Appalachia; in fact my mother was one of 16 and was the poorest family in their county. She never had a baby doll or toy her entire life. I kept encouraging her to write her story, she was an amazing writer, but she didn’t want to offend her siblings.

Brother Jared, this story brought tears to my eyes. You see, my first born child died of an alcohol over does just short of his 19th birthday. On the way home from breaking the news to his dad, step mom & younger brother, Amazing Grace began to play on the car radio, & I closed my eyes. I saw a dark gulf between me & two young men standing on their side of the edge. Then I realized that the one standing in front was my son, COMPLETELY NEW, wearing the brightest white T shirt I'd ever seen, & blue jeans the most vivid denim blue I'd ever seen! Behind him stood our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, but to this very day I can't describe His face, just his loving smile. He started to turn with his arm around Jeremy, who glanced back at me with the most joyous smile I'd ever seen. Then turned & followed the Lord up steps I couldn't see.I take to heart when Jesus told His disciples that what's impossible for man is possible with The Lord God. I don't know what Jesus my Savior has in store for me in Heaven, but I do trust Him. No matter what, the Lord works in mysterious ways. And for anyone reading this comment that has not accepted the priceless gift of salvation by His blood on The Cross, don't wait as we're not promised tomorrow & He's fixing to take His Bride, The Church out of here. Time is short....

Placenta previa happened to my precious Aunt twice. They were just the best people and I tried to remember everything I could about the loss of those babies. I felt like it was a warning to me and my four sisters. I told all of our husbands about it and that we had five minutes to get them to hospital. It was baby sis the 9th grandkid. When he called I said this is it. Leave im coming ill call the doctor. We all had the same OB So she knew our fear. I said she needs the er when she comes thru the door and she did. Later that morning the Doctor and the nurses cried and prayed with us on our knees. She kept saying they always knew. They can't die. They just can't. They didn't. 11 pints. He's gorgeous. In his twenties. A blessing.

That was a great story. I have had a few visions and dreams as well in my lifetime... Colors in heaven are so true to there color, like we have never seen on earth. And one time, i had someone speak to me in a vision and the light was so bright, but soft to the eyes, and light came from everywhere at once, and there was no shadows at all. My mama's name was Ruby. She lived in Townsend her whole life. She lost a great grandbaby. My daughter's baby was stillborn between 8-9 months. Later, my mama had cancer. One morning she got up and said she had dreamed about heaven. In this dream she was met by a little girl who looked just like her grandaughter. And she talked a mile a minute just like her too! She took her by the hand and began to show her around heaven. They walked by a place that was all beautiful and white. You could hear unceasing worship. The little girl said " that's the throne room of God" She said "sometimes He even lets me sit on His lap!" I can just see Jesus with all the little children! My mama lived long enough to see another little great grandaughter born, and then she went to heaven. I have no doubt that her dream came true.

Many people like Ruby and her mom still lived on small homesteads throughout the Smokies when the U.S. Dept. of Interior designated the area as a national park in the late 1930's. It would be interesting to know if Ruby was among those who subsequently lost their property as a consequence of the government's action.

Had my beautiful son for 23 years, he was my 38th birthday present. He's been gone 2 years on 22nd July 2024. His Big Sister and I miss him so much that sometimes it feels like we can't breathe. This is a beautiful story and brings a little peace to my heart.
