As usual, you present the unusual. Thank you so much for your very diverse, different approach to your area. You always try and make learning fun. Thanks to everyone behind the scenes. Without them, it would be very different. I'm 63. I dips me lid to you all. Thanks again. Greetings from Dimboola, in Victoria.

@@CuriosityMine How could I not? I am a bit different to a lot of people. My brain still wants input. Getting older, not much formal ed. Always loved rocks. Dogs, Feldspar and Jasper. 2 cats. Opal. My birthstone is opal. Just got my first lot of stuff. I asked for potch to try out. I got teasers for encouragement. Got the Sintered Diamond Burrs and Nove points, but now too scared to start. Woe is me. Got the dress and too scared to wear it! LOL.

The leaves look like a smaller version of Pigface which loves the beach and is also edible, no fruit just very bright flowers. I have tried eating Pigface leaf and it tastes very salty even when not near the beach, my wife has it in the garden and constantly grows onto the lawn and I have to mow it down or it gets out of control.I bet the Ruby Saltbush only fruits in summer when I'm not around, there's cactus out at Grawin fruiting when I'm there mining that tastes heaps like Kiwi fruit, not sure what type but they grow huge, seen some at least 15 meters tall, they have a habit of falling over. Love ya work, cheers m8

Thanks so much! Yeah there’s definitely a similarity with pig face, the ruby saltbush has a real succulent-like structure to it’s leaves. Not sure if there’s any connection there, but it sure is interesting. Be careful with the introduced cactus fruits, some of them have spines inside the fruit that can be pretty regrettable! Thanks again for the comment. 😁👍

LOL. Born in Melbourne. Hated the city. Bolted at 20. Stayed in Dimboola ever since. My home and love is here. The city girl that hated cities! LOL. Kindest regards to all opalites out there.
