Gambling in the old days was awesome. My hubby and I would travel to Vegas in the very early nineties, and I would get tired of lugging around my giant bucket of quarters, so I would switch to 25 cent roulette for hours while the hubby played high limit craps. Fun times!

Ruby, I totally agree with you about how it gets dark too early. Where I am at in Eastern Washington it is cold and gets dark even earlier than down there where you are. Yeah, the smoke was really bad in the early 1980s when I worked at Harrahs Reno. The casino workers were required to wear black and white (black shoes, pants, tie and white shirt). There was a cloud of smoke that hung over the casino floor and after your shift your clothes were permeated with smoke. I would have to bag my clothes and shoes when I got home. They stunk that bad. Doing laundry/ironing was a never ending part time job. Casino work in the 80s was done when no other work was available. The bad old days, for sure.

The clanging bell sound from whoever was winning big brought back memories of going up to Tahoe to go play the slots almost 30 years ago. I turned 50 in October. All of the machines clanging when someone would make a hit and then the sound of the coins hitting the metal tray below. Everyone carrying around plastic buckets to hold their coins, those were the days😂😂😂

I went to Vegas years ago with my mom. I remember being so tired because my mom would want to stay up all night playing slots. Back then you put in coins, no tickets and pulled the arm down to spin.
