Hi, terry if I will run "copy flash flash" won't it be the Router router image in the both system flashes?

Depends on the source. The primary or secondary at the end of the command determines destination so the source is the opposite. If you have switch code in primary and you "copy flash flash secondary" then you will have switch code in both. It is fine to have switch in both, router in both or a mix. totally up to you.

@@TerryHenry no, I mean, as in my scenario I have ICX7750 which is serving under the DC network and I want to upgrade it from 8030f to 8090d(UFI) won't have lost my configurations if I replace my Switch image with a router image.

@@tech_geek7652 yes, if you go switch to router you will lose some of your configuration (mostly just ip address and related). So just upgrade to the later switch image rather than router. Just depends which file you copy. Remember you need to go to 8.0.80f non-UFI first, then to the UFI.

Terry I am new to this. when I use the copy command to see the options available it says invalid command can you please assist?

If your prompt ends with > then you are in user mode. You need to type "enable" to be in privledged exec mode to have access to the copy command. The prompt will end with # if you are in the right place.

@@TerryHenry understood thanks! I learned a lot yesterday and was able to load the files to upgrade icx7150 12 port to version 08090J but now the switch wants a login and password. I am just trying to get it upgraded to where I can manage it with ruckus unleashed and man for someone that doesn't work with this stuff it is tough. It came with a house purchase so I did not see out this torture on myself. haha. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

What is the difference with the UFI code? I am running SPR08080f.bin

UFI includes boot code, PoE firmware and routing or switching code. You should definitely upgrade to the UFI code.

I tried upgrading my ICX7150 from 8.0.80 to 8.0.90, I lost connectivity to the switch when I booted into secondary, I can no longer ping or putty to it, what should I check for when I console in?

@@danielgomez966 Did you change from switch code to router or vice versa? If so re-add your switch IP address in switch code with "ip address x.x.x.x/xx" from global config or router with a router-interface on the vlan... example: vlan 1 router-interface ve 1 interface ve 1 ip address x.x.x.x/24

@@TerryHenry No Change, was running in switch mode, however I found I don't have the right console cable so I need to buy a USBC to USB cable lol. I switched back to Primary Boot in the meantime.

tried your method... but couldn't boot into sec. I saw NAND read: device 0 offset 0x4000000, size 0x2000000 Skipping bad block 0x05a00000 Skipping bad block 0x05b00000 please help!

@@WiLdCoMeTa bad blocks are fine don't worry about that. Your going to have to tell me where you are now for me to help. Is it in boot monitor or back to the original code or rolling reboot? Did you upgrade the boot code before you reloaded? Did you upgrade the secondary or the primary?

I didn't flash the boot code... coz after I follow those steps in the video. it has already upgraded to the newest boot code. and I only upgraded secondary to keep my primary save.

@@WiLdCoMeTa so it boots back to primary fine and you can't just "boot system flash secondary" or put "boot system flash secondary" into the config then write memory and reload? if not send "show flash" and "show version" output. Did you upgrade to 8.0.80 non-UFI first or go straight to 8.0.90?
