Been to Roatan twice and Guanaja as well, not on cruise, but on mission trip. One of the most beautiful places on earth! The snorkeling there is awesome! Looks like you guys had fun!

I did a Tabyana Beach excursion in Roatan. Walk right into the water for snorkeling, food and drinks right on the beach. One of my favorite stops!

I have been horse riding a couple times. My last time, probably 30 years ago lol, I was on Mackinac Island (no gas power vehicles allowed). My friend and I rented horses. She was much more experienced than I. We got our horses and they sent us out. We made it at the most 100ft down the road and my horse turned right back around and headed back to the stables. They looked at me like I was crazy! They sent me back out. Well this same thing happened 2 more times. So the owner decided to have someone jump on another horse and ride out with me. We got to the same turn around spot and that person grabbed a WHIP! AND WHACK! That horse was in full run. My hat flew off. My sunglasses flew off and I think everyone on that island probably heard me scream.

I came down & had a blast. Went zip lining, ate iguana & other stuff. I was alone & had a great time! Good people.

Thank you for sharing, I’m from mainland Honduras but I have visited Roatan about 5 times and I absolutely love it. A couple of years ago we did the horse back ride and it was amazing. My horse’s mane was Marlboro. It was great to see that the horses were very well taken care of. Saludos.

I have gone horse back riding at several ports. My favorite was Roatan where we went up a mountain then down the mountain into the ocean.

Now I just left Roatan on the carnival. We did a tour it wasn’t good at all, literally 30 mins around the poorest part I say that in the most humbly way. $45 for nothing. I’ll make sure next time to book with the cruise ship

I have gone horseback riding in the Caribbean about 5 or 6 years ago. I’ve also gone on NY ranches vacations at least 10 times over the years. Was Royal Caribbean’s President on your ride? I know from experience, one time was enough, that it’s not a good idea to wear shorts horseback riding. I know that you said that it was a surprise activity. Also, in case people don’t know (but you do) you’re not allowed to take pictures while you’re on a horse. You made that decision so that you would be able to film the excursion.

I agree @nancypoevaznik about not wearing short while horseback riding. Back in 2019, for my honeymoon I’ve gone horseback riding in Puerto Rico wearing short into the forest 2 hours riding . Let me tell you, i has bugs and mosquitoes bit my inner thigh leading me to have cellulites ( skin infection). If i had known, i would have worn a cover up or a pant not to have my skin exposed. Also, after riding for 2 hours, I developed moderate back pain. Overall, the experience of horseback riding was fun experience if you’re a first time; at the same time i had a bad health outcome from it.

Yes anytime that a horseback riding excursion is available the wife and I always sign up. The one thing we both enjoy together. Been on many including Roatan going on another one in Roatan Sept 13.

have not gone for a horse back ride on a cruise excursion. I did go for a ride the beach in Rosarito Beach Mexico. The poor horses were so worn out that my first horse would not even get up to a trot. The person saw and rode up on a horse that was a little more fresh. I was able to get it up to a slow gallop for a nice short ride. I felt so bad for the condition of the horses that I kept the ride short and returned it. I would guess and hope horses used for cruise excursions would be better kept.

I got screwed in that city atv’ing. Setup by one of their staff and got injured. 1/2 in your. Young working asked me to switch atvs. And turns out he damaged his ATV and wanted me to use it. My first turn I flipped. Tore my acl. You have been warned.

Yes went horse back riding on a cruise. Did not have a guide holding onto the horse. Riding through the water was the best.

I go horseback riding on every trip possible. I’ve been through Yosemite and the forest of Ecuador on a horse. I’ll be staying at a horse ranch in Arizona next week for a road scholar trip. It’s difficult for a facility to meet all riders needs; some people are super anxious and would prefer a nag without any spirit, and of course not most people want a wild untrained animal. Inexperienced riders often give the horse confusing commands, .

89 cruises - twice on a cruise in the early years to all those third world countries, horse back riding, and a massage somewhere down there - again 10 years ago cruising down there was a beautiful experience. i dont think i can much about cruising these days especially since covid.

Looks like you enjoyed most of your trip and what you did not enjoy was mostly your fault! Hopefully you will reconsider the tittle for your videas as it doesnt really capture the essence of your trip and might be misleading to people considering Roatan as a destination. - a honduran subscriber

Boat people is part of why Roata. Isn't like it use to be. The locals dint benefit from the cruise ships. They only let you see what they want you to. I have been going here since 91 and what was a paradise island has been raped by opportunist who could care less about the economics, the locals, or the ecosystem of this island.
