I have worked both retail and fast food we get treated less them human everyday just today I got yelled at by 2 customers when I was working drive thru. The first time it was because I greeted her after the automated system did. I even apologized to her and explained it was a automated system that greeted her the 1st time. She still was mad. The other was because we stopped serving this one dish that was a limited time food.

I'm sorry you have to go through that. I'm always respectful to fast food workers even if my orders wrong because everyone makes mistakes so I just eat it still. I seen one girl break down at jack in the box . She looked young like 19 too. I felt bad because the customer was acting ghetto. Some people didn't grow up with respect

@Nene thanks so much . People do not know what we are going through. Today we had 3 people call off so we were short staffed to begin with. The district manager and the owner's wife came into help us. We try our best to get people orders around fast and correctly. I hear so many times people don't want to work any more. It is not that it is they are finding better paying jobs. These same people would not work retail or fast food. I make $13 a hour no benefits. We don't get holiday pay and in order to get bonus you have to work 30 hours regularly. The only people who get that is managers. Us crew get 24 to 26 hours and if slow they have us leave early. Any job that works with customers is stressful. What would make it better is if a customer even just 1 would say thank you to us. Just 1 customer to care that makes our day.

Thank you for saying that about Walmart workers. My son graduated top of his class. Received full scholarship for Bachelor’s degree in engineering but is now working at Walmart and putting himself through Law School because I’m disabled and can’t pay his way. Working at Walmart has nothing to do with education it usually has to do with pay and and then working with your schedule.

They have to scan the barcode on the back of your ID to sell alcohol or loose their license to sell alcohol to anyone. It’s the same way with prescriptions now. I’ve used the same pharmacy for 15+ yrs. Everyone there knows me but if I’m picking up a scheduled drug they have to scan my ID.
