You know, the point of Postmodern Jukebox is to play new music in a way that you wouldn't expect it to work. And the funny thing about this song is that you could put this exact version into a movie set in the 50's and no one would be the wiser. The lyrics actually even fit something that would have been done in that era. Bravissima.

I've had a long tiring day. I finished school late. I had to wait in a coffee shop for an hour and half for an obligatory extra session. Von smith is probably my new favorite singer when it comes to old styles of music. His voice seems almost unmatched by even today's pop artists. I know it sounds biased since i listen to mainly metal and hate pop music with a passion, but i could only imagine if smith did collabs with dion, roy orbison, or maybe even buddy holly if he was alive back then.

I loved the reggae flavor of the Original but have a soft spot for oldies and I'm just loving this version!!! Now I will be hooked on vintage version covers of popular songs because it is wonderful. I love my oldies. :)

Same, if anything I think the oldie feel of this cover puts the lyrics in a more logical context. Both versions are great though!
