After watching all the interviews, it's apparent that Daddy Freeze tends to be biased. While he may believe he's aiding the industry, he's actually causing more harm. No matter what happened in the past, let it pass. I think the industry will be far better if they can come together and learn from this bitter experience, forgive and help each other and move forward. This way, they will inspire the next generation to not repeat the same mistake again, that's how big industries move forward, but Nigeria for some reason we always fight each other in almost every sector.

And i want anyone who read this to remember that, your time will come whether people like it or not, but when that time comes don't allow EGO get in the way because then it will only be a matter of time before you loose everything ( I think Eedris had a BIG EGO) which he allowed get out of hand because obviously a man must have an ego for him to succeed,but he must always keep it in check so he doesn't overstep. If you are successful now don't think you already make it oooo, watch yourself carefully because as we become more successful we become more greedy for not only the money but the power, the applause and the people that comes with it. Please i urge the music industry to mend these broken issues, to allow for inspiration to rein by bringing all grieving parties together to discuss issues and chart a greater path forward for the next generation.. God bless Nigeria

I have always had respect for Eedris but if what these men are saying about him is true then I'm disappointed in him. Let's not even talk about Burna Boy matter, him (Eedris) saying he paved a way for the likes of Burna and Wizkid is nonsense! Yes, he did his part for the Nigerian music industry, helping to put us out there in the world but that has nothing to do with Burna Boy' career. Burna has achieved and reached heights that Eedris could only dream of. Instead of putting mouth in the banter between Davido and Co., he should be helping to settle and advise them. As for me, nobody can take away the fact that Burna na Odogwu and The African Giant!

All the reactions to the Eedris comments show how important formal amd informal education can be. Eedris like all others has his flaws and perhaps is even a very bad guy in the industry, only those close to him can tell but the context of helping anyone is simple..... doesn't have to have been directly. Whether you all accept it or not, one generation always influences what the generations after would enjoy (whether deliberately or otherwise, intended or not). That fight and outburst definitely had its impact on deals amd negotiations afterwards. The manner is a different topic entirely, so is Eedris' arrogance and attitude. He had a burst up that played its role in the industry and anyone coming out to say older generations didnt do anything for them is equally arrogant. Some of these guys never had a thing with fela but they agree he played a role in their careers. See the hypocrisy???

Edris na mouth. Ego-tripping. Rudeboy said it all. Just as the Igbos say, there's nobody whose absence can stop a market from opening for the day. And a person can't stand in the road throughout the day, you give way for others to continue with the journey. Whether you are there or not the business of the day will go on. It's actually disingenuous to turn your sacrifice for self development into a public spectacle to use in blackmailing others. What does paving the way for others really mean? I never heard Fela, Sir Victor Uwaifor, Sunny Ade, Osita Osadebe and a host of other great musicians claim that they paved the way for others. There were musicians in Nigeria before them as well. To acknowledge somebody as your elder in a particular field doesn't mean that your growth in the profession depends on him or her. You also make personal sacrifices for your own growth.

Just see it like this, the likes of 50 cent will never disrespect people like Nas, Rakim, wu tang and so on, because they contributed to the American hip-hop culture and they took it to some level that made people interested in it, I don't know Idris intimately nor his social behavior, but one thing we can't take from him is his contribution to the afro music culture, maybe he usually said more than he should, but what do you expect from someone that sang jaga jaga without bothering for what the consequence may be. The truth is he his just like an elder brother in the industry and nothing can be taken away from him, you never see rakim or nas shouting and blasting every artist that disrespected them or doesn't give dues to the legends of hip-hop, they don't need to prove anything, when 21 savage disrespected Nas, the population put savage in his place without Nas saying a word, Idris should act like that big brother he his and just be on his own parameter.
@PJWW_HEART_OF_GOLD4 ай бұрын
I was already listening to a few Nigerian rappers before Idris came onto the scene. It's true that Idris had a strong voice when he started, but that doesn't make him the first Nigerian rapper. I'm in my mid-50s, while some of you listening to Idris's interviews may be under 40. Many paved the way in the music industry before Idris. If anyone should be speaking about the impact on the Nigerian music industry, it should be Baba Fela. Idris, stop attacking both the old and new Nigerian artists. Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, has achieved incredible success by taking Nigerian Afrobeat to an international level. Stop attacking him and other younger artists who are excelling despite the hate. Instead of insulting our young Nigerian superstars, collaborate with them. Remember when you disrespected Charlie Boy? You failed to respect many of the pioneers in the music industry, like Daddy Shoki, Tony One Week, and Mr. T, yet you demand respect and recognition from the younger generation. I can't stand nonsense. Just stop.

I love Eedris and his music. We rocked it while it reigned. However, he needs to come off the delusion that a fracas in an airplane cabin pioneered the revolution of a whole industry. He arrogates a delusional entitlement to himself first the shellacking he got from 50 and his crew. 50 and his crew were told Eedris was a gangster and they had to cut the tour short and leave Nigeria. Nigeria Breweries blacklisted Eedris and he goes about to say he S.A. reduced his career for the new cats. How does that sound? Who did he mentor? Nobody in the industry fought for anybody unless you mentor. He is a bully, a liar and a pretender. He is a good story teller and that’s why he is dangerous.
