As an idea, one of my favorites is a version of fire red that the character is part of team rocket, got me surprised and it was actually really fun if you think about it. I mean.. stealing pokemons from kids and old guys after beating them.. I totally recomend it if someone wants something a bit different.

I can only speak to Light Platinum, and I would have to say it gets substantially worse with time. The second region is a joke; it's so easy. Plus there are a bunch of potential softlocks since the creators decided to make certain TMs required to get past certain areas (e.g. a version of Overheat is needed to burn stumps, so if you ditch the Overheat TM, you're stuck.). The many rival characters are cool on paper, but you only see them intermittently, they hardly have distinguishable personalities, and their teams are highly inconsistent with past encounters in terms of members and difficulty. The NPC's often times just repeat word-for-word what other NPC's say, which is pretty annoying. There are tons of little bugs and glitches that can force you to redo small sections of gameplay for no reason. I think it was a little too ambitious for the creators since it started out very well but ended up, in my opinion, unpolished and sometimes broken. Compared to other Pokemon games, I'd say it's the worst, but compared to other fan games, I'd say it's fairly average.

Dark Rising is.. certainly something. While I was fine taking on the Elite Four at the end, the Champion wasn't worth it for me. I just skipped to the next game. Really, if you're fine with grinding while watching a movie at home and not really focusing on the main story, go right ahead. It's not really that interesting unless you throw in your own plot line. Me, enjoying making characters and stories, did exactly that. Now I have a nameless girl that I draw as the character with the team that I have. Also, that thing is a glitch-fest, my favorite regular one is the house where you get Victini. I could enter and always get one over and over again, getting an endless supply of Sacred Ash. Now I just has a Box full of them.

Dark Rising world collide was the game that made me stop cheating. Earlier I didnt know about EVs and cheated every game and never really completed any of the cheated games. But when I played Dark Rising World Collide the Elite Four had LV 100 pokemon and they sweeped my whole team with single pokemon (I had a terrible pokemon team). I stopped played pokemon games for a while and 1 year later I learned about team building, playing without cheats then I started playing pokemon again. Now the games feels a lot more better and feels more nostalgic.

You can't have possibly made this video and also say you've played many rom hacks. Pokémon Snakewood is pretty well-known and I can't really think that a person would have actually played the game through and not put it on a list like this. It added a new type, it had a great theme/concept, it made a lot of references to different well-known and even obscure-but-great series', and the story was also great. The Ruby Destiny games are also really well-known, and while the first one is kind of bland, and the second one is kind of weird in playstyle, the third one really ties it all together and makes it unique and with a great story that was very memorable for me. The only reason I could see that you wouldn't put this on here was if you looked at the series as a whole and noticed the fourth Ruby Destiny game was in the works and hadn't been completed, in which case, that's fine, but you still could've put the third game in the series on there. There's just actually so many rom hacks out there with good concepts and decent to good stories that I can't believe you either just haven't played or played and then put it below most of the things on this list. I'm just baffled.

Now, I have actually tried out all of these games, and I have lost on all of them, which is sad. On Glazed, I got to the Palmtree Resort and then my game crashed. On Dark Rising, I got to the town after the cave, where Entei was and I got rekt by the Rival. On Sweet 2th, I just started it and then left. On Light Platinum, I got to the town, which is after the desert and then I got rekt by the Gym Leader. I didn't see, that I typed that much on my phone. :3

I've played Pokemon Sweet 2th and although it included more it sucked, the game crashes a lot and the part about creating Sweetmon is not true because I've collected a fuck ton of berries and went to every house that had a sink to craft a Pokesweet and I couldn't, I'm not sure if that was a glitch in the game or the creator forgot to put it in there but I was very disappointed that I couldn't. I was hoping that there would be a recipe book that shows what Pokesweet you could make by whatever berries you collected but it didn't. Despite my liking of the previous Pokemon Sweet, Sweet 2th needs some major refining, I still believe this game would do a lot better as fan made pokemon game rather than rom hack.

I don’t normally comment on videos, but man… he spoke so fast and said so much, but used way too many general statements and did not really inform me of anything new. Basically figured out 5 ways to say the same thing. “The story is sick… but I haven’t completed it yet” was the general theme of the video. Maybe bullet points on a pre planned script would have been beneficial for this one. Seemed to be free-styling this. Other videos from the channel were better though!

I wish there was a game with ALL regions ALL pokemon ALL starters easy to catch ALL LEGENDARIES and a good story line PLUS MEGAS that would be cool

Bro try Pokemon SGS..It's very good and you even have mega evolutions, and the Pokemon's turn back to normal form after the battle. You should try covering this hack..if you have not covered. Thanks for the great videos as always.

I loved dark rising more than any other of these roms playing 4/5 i think alot of people are underselling it.
