I was on this run in the Triumph 2.5 estate, we were on a charity run to raise money for Sheffield's Weston Park Hospital charity. This is a specialist cancer hospital. We raised around £4000, the total amount hasn't been confirmed yet.

Red E-type (later model), Black Lotus Elan +2A with a rare non-factory soft top conversion (only know of other other like it) (bolt on wire wheels?), Triumph 2000/2500 estate (rare to see an estate?), early MX5, Ford (Fiesta) XR2, Toyota MR2, Golf (Polo?) convertible, Red Triumph TR4A (?), Blue (Turquoise?) Riley 1.5 on Minilite replica wheels, Blue MGB Roadster, followed by an orange (red?) one, Red Triumph TR6, followed by a silver 'modern', Mk1 Ford Escort on Revolution 4 spokes and with quarter bumpers at the front, Primrose (?) yellow MGB GT, Silver Lotus Exige (?), Blue BMW, Renault Clio (twin tail pipes so assumedly the V6), Triumph Stag, Vanden Plas 1300 (?), Alfa-Romeo (don't know much about Alfa's!), Yellow TR6, Citroen Traction Avant (front wheel drive before the Mini but not transverse?), Classic Mini (Morris) but not earliest model and not sure boot lid light is correct for that year, Blue BMW, Audi TT, Toyota Celica convertible??, Yellow Triumph Stag, Jaguar S type (or 420?), Blue MGB roadster, a van, Red Citroen 2CV (Dolly?), White Triumph Stag on factory alloy wheels, White Triumph Stag on Minilite replica wheels, BMW, Mercedes, White Ford, Toyota MR2 (earlier or later type to the other one), Porsche, early Mazda MX5, Porsche (might be last of the air cooled 911s), tough one! - Turquise Standard Vanguard (?), later model Mazda MX5, Red Mazda RX7 (rotary - fast and furious?, not the fastback version), Red TR7 Convertible on non-factory alloy wheels, Red MG TF, Case (?) tractor and trailer, and a FIAT. You'd have thought 'plod' would have hung around to see all those old classics.

The "Standard" was actually an Austin Cambridge of 1950's (believe me, I'm old enough!), and I'm just thinking the red TR7 might actually be one of the pre-production TR8s with the V8 engine before BL canned the project...

The blue BMW roadster I recognized as a Z3. The Traction Avant was indeed not transverse. Longitudonal engine placement, with a cardan shaft. I think different mechanics, but the same principe as the front wheel drive shaft on a traditional 4x4.

Some nice cars coming through there. Specially the '60s Brits. Loved the Triumph TR4. Would prefer a softtop though. The big grey Jag was nice too. Don't know the model, but it's such a recognizeable front for the XK120 period. And some nice MG B's. Would have loved to see a few more classic mini's though. I don't like the BMW one. That's not a mini anymore.

That ford has naturally been there since those earlier classic like those seen were new & before. It's probable back then they would have fared better crossing it as they had none of that technology to bugger them up.

Looked to be Rally plates. You pay some money to go on a classic Road Rally and get the special plates. Back in the day 'continental' road rallies had special rally plates so for a non-competitive classic road rally here today it's a kind of souvenir for want of a better description.
