I read all the comments and nobody seems to say what this song is about. Hallelujah means praise to God. The baffled king who wrote this song was King David of Israel. His biggest sin was watching Bathshma bathe, and then taking advantage of her and making sure her husband would be killed in battle to cover up the child that was in her stomach from him. It moves on to Sampson, who was deceived and constrained by a woman who choked his throat and cut his hair and took his power. God bless anybody who understands and loves the meaning of this song. God bless you all.❤️

What is the meaning of broken Hallelujah in the lyrics ?
@Jhtfrfb14 күн бұрын
@@bumihijau5670 to my sophomore understanding, the song seems to move through time from King David to the present. With the evil spirit that surrounds us often our praise to God is broken. God bless you.

@xrxs10209 жыл бұрын
+Rachel Dumas You're correct. He is on key. He's a good singer. However, today's sound technology includes the little thingy in his ear, so he is able to hear himself, just as he would in the studio. This makes singing live waaaaay easier than back in the day when we used to have to wonder if we were off because we could barely hear! Beautiful song by Lenard Cohen done beautifully by Rufus.

"Hallelujah" Well, I heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah... Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah... Baby, I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor (you know) I used to live alone before I knew ya And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah... There was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me, do ya? But remember when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah... Maybe there's a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah... 🐻 With the pronunciation of [Hallelujah], in words, and in this song, I felt a nostalgic sound somewhere. The pure, innocent, sacred and beautiful feelings of the singer are very well conveyed. I'm convinced that it's basically a song that can only be sung by people who feel like this. There is a hint of close friend and dearness. That's a very good place. And again, like me who has listening ears, I feel that there are many souls and feelings that sympathize with this [Hallelujah] song. The world is the earth, and the earth made me think that the song of [Hallelujah] has a certain essence and core. And I felt a profound expanse in [Hallelujah] psychology. 🌸 Grace, based on my "Japanese", it's highly probable that Google Translate isn't always correctly converted to "English". In that case, please forgive me for the fact that there are some points that do not reach my point. With the help of a special winner, I hope that someday, in a more epoch-making world, I will be able to translate and interpret correctly into "English" based on my "Japanese". We are very much looking forward to it. Thank you for your cooperation. Well then.

*it's for me* : I heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the lord But you don’t really care for music, do you Well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Halleluuuuujah Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty in the moonlight over threw you She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Halleluuuujah Maybe there’s a god above But all I’ve ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who’d out drew ya And it’s not a cry that you hear at night It’s not someone who’s seen the light It’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah

I have listened to many versions of this song, including some amazing voices and Rufus' version and tone is exactly right for the song. I agree with you all, Rufus is definitively the best.

Rufus has been my favorite musician since 2015 or 2016. Of course I prefer his version of Hallelujah over all others.

Now I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Maybe I have been here before I know this room I, I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew you I've seen your flag on the marble arch Love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah There was I time you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show it to me do you And rem
